This is a perfect image and I would not change any part of it. You need the foreground to balance the sky with the mountain range providing the separation.

This image is compositionally perfect. It is true to the visual grid-lower left to upper right-and exposure is right on the mark. This image conveys a strong sense of emotion which could run from happiness to despair. And that depends upon how each person views it. This is a great image worthy of selection by the elves as a photo-of-the-week.

Thomas-This is your best. Powerful with a subject unafraid to express feelings. Good tonality. Very grainy but as it should be with a black & white image. For me this is a 7/7. Those who rated it low did not take the time to figure out what it was you were doing.

I think this is a delightful presentation of form and composition using the best control medium available today,i.e., Adobe Photoshop. To make this image in a darkroom with chemicals would take a day, two boxes of paper, and countless chemical dips. Pay no attention to the "artists" who say you copped out to your computer. I see that none of them have posted anything as good as your image.

nice and simple. perfect exposure and toning. the kids expression is priceless. my bet is he's not quite as innocent as he looks and that makes the portrait.

I like the corner as a backdrop. I also like the absence of a title. There's no reason an image should have a title. I like to wonder about what's going on. Makes people THINK.
