Philippe: Read what I wrote. I did not say I didn't like your image. Nor did I say that it should not have been made. My comment was about flat light producing flat images which I believe are a waste of effort. Quite often I see things in mid-day that I would like to photograph but I return at early morning and early evening when the lights rays are longer and more colorful. In otherwords, I do not pull the trigger at mid-day. As I said in opening my comment, your pictire might be what people commented-and I read what they said. My comment was only directed at flat light-not the subject of your capture. In offering a critique the Elves ask us to address the strengths and weaknesses of photographs they select. Your image has the many strengths as were evident in the comments before mine. I just commented on a weakness, ie., flat light.

This might be what everybody says and interprets, but, to me it is flat- the sky is flat and the grass is flat- as if it was shot in mid-day-as opposed to when the light rays are long and ten-times more colorful. There are times when one should not pull the trigger. When this image was captured was one of them.

I agree with Clayton. Moreover, this image is true to the visual grid and that makes it exceptional.

About the only time I would enjoy being a snake.

I agree with Daniel. Simple is always better in a piece of art and this image is as simple as it gets yet elicits wonderment of what's over those mountains.

I'm supposed to find the snail, right? Either way, I like the color and texture of this image.

What a great image. I've been in a lot of hotel hallways and found them totally boring. This is perfectly composed and the exposure is true to the zone system.
