Congratulations on POW but, as someone suggested, I checked out a few photos in your portfolio and agree, these are much more interesting than the one chosen. I like the colors in this one and the hint of pinks adds to it for me. I will be back.

I love long exposures as wel, but I'm still really confused when people say it was a 3 minute exposure, how do you manager that? Lowest I've seen is 30 seconds on the time value selection of ANY SLR.

The contrast between the motion of the sky and the still smoothness of the water is quite striking.

I would call my observations as an preception rather than suggesions or technicalities. My humble reading of this photograph is feeling confusion...what is the real mood of photograph, Calmness, soothness or it is to arouse tensions. The sea is velvetty smooth arousing soothness, but then clouds with straight lines, rushing past horizon, arouse uneasyness. Moreover, the fence lines are too straight and criss-crossed in middle to support the calm feeling. Overall photo is arousing uneasyness.
