Would love your thoughts on the toning and the lighting.

What exactly were you looking for with this shot? Please dont take any offense to this, as it is in an open forum, but this shot shows a dreadful lack of technical and artistic technique. The angle is all wrong, you've cut off the top and bottom, no effort has been made in regard to lighting, the backdrop is awful, and as a product shot, the worst i've ever seen. I am hoping that you placed it on this forum to see if anyone would notice and comment on the really ordinary stuff.
No matter what you do with product shots, they are boring. It is up to you to do something about the dullness of a photo of a bottle of wine and turn it into something worth looking at.
Get to it's level, turn off your flash or take it off camera. Open up your aperture and drop down your DOF and stick in a little dutch angle, and start again.
Remember, this is forgettable and ordinary. Avoid that with these detail shots and they can become very valuable in the final wedding product.

I do agree with you Angie. On seeing the shot without the hand, it loses all balance.

Great photo Angie. If at all possible, removing the left hand and the slight scar on her belly would, IMHO, make a superb shot.

Way to dark, looks mirky. I'm assuming this is also the on camera flash. This has given it very flat lighting, not ideal when it comes to B&W.

Beautiful photo John.

It seems very flat, both tonally and lighting. What technique do you use to create your B&W?

Dont like the angle you've asked her to look in. Awkward, and looses its appeal. Maybe have her looking at the light source.

There is nothing wrong with this photo, it is kinda cool, but I doubt she is a photographer. Apart from the lens cap issue (she may have just picked up the camera and hadn't got to that bit yet), but that hat would be too inhibiting for someone holding a camera up to her eye.

Not sure if I'd bother re shooting it with an old wooden tripod. If you used a camera to re shoot it, that would work better! :-)

Not sure on the gaussain blur. Backdrop is not working for me on this one John.

I like the clinical nature, almost medical text book feel. The lack of "pose" or expression create a very raw image. I would like to see it without the towel.
