Original texture on a well used idea. Well done.

I am very impressed with your entire portfolio. The colours, the composion, dof, all superb. I love the self portrait shot with the 5 faces.
You have a wonderful imagination, a good eye for composition and light and great tonality to your work.
I feel the ratings you have received are much lower than what is deserved, and has obviously attracted those who dont see the quality of your art.
Best wishes
David

Tonal qualities seem much better than some of your previous postings Ken. Well done on a great pose.

The depth of field is good, it's the expression of the rear model that fails. If you are going to throw her out of focus, dont have her looking at the camera pulling a face. Get her to be looking away so we are not forced to break through the haze to see har expression. In this image, the rear model seems to pull the viewers eye, yet is lost in the DOF.
Other than that, its a fine image.

Fantastic glamour shot and pose here Ken, but there seems to be an odd toning in the shadows, and another odd tone in the highlights. All round, the colours seem a bit off. The scars under her nipples, IMHO, could do with removal.

Thankyou Jim. It's nice to hear such support from someone who's work I admire so much.

Whilst scanning through the wedding section, bored as I am most of the time with the (IMHO) amateurish attempts by most claiming to be wedding photographers, and marvelling at the fact that some are STILL doing studio wedding photos, I finally come across this gem. To be honest, this is one of the best wedding photos I've seen in years. It is a great take on the whole "American Gothic" theme. I love their facial expressions, you can almost see them killing themselves laughing on the inside. The symmetry in their pose as well as the lighting is awesome.
I can see why some would find this type of thing dull, stoic, old fashioned etc. I think its the new benchmark. For this reason, it deserves to be photo of the week, not because of any technical or artistic brilliance, but for the feedback and varying views it would create.

Hope she was happy with flowers. Was there a better angle to shoot it on to avoid that backdrop, or include it better? Bit of fill flash to kill those shadows wouldn't have gone astray.

Busy background, and cannot see the mirror. Lighting is unremarkable, and the vignette, very kitch.

great shot. would work well as an abstract tried on many angles.

There is certainly nothing wrong with the image, only the title suggests rich colour.

This angle from Snapper Rocks is a great one, and very worthwhile working on, especially first thing in the morning with the sunrise lighting up the Surfers Paradise buildings. The other advantage to the earlier morning is generally cleaner surf,IMHO something that would improve the content of this shot. Straighten up the horizon.
