1.
You could try using a shorter lens on your current setup 80mm or even 60mm - perspective would change significantly thou.

 2.
Both Nikon and Canon make state of the art cameras and lenses. From my perspective the key differences are: modern Nikon bodies can use directly old manual focus lenses - canon can do it only with adapters. Canon has modern autofocus super fast 1.2 lenses - Nikon does not.

 3.
Oh, this 1934 Fuji logo should have been used on X-series cameras.

 4.
Very interesting video, I do not know about your strobe question but actress did great job.

 5.
Cooking at professional level is hard - I used to work in a busy, big city, fine dining restaurant - cooks were working unbelievably hard.

 6.
I think in a documentary film about William Eggleston there was a talk about him photographing a wedding. Was it art?

 7.
I will risk a thought that some photographs are best suited for a page in a calendar, some are better if looked at in a gallery.

 8.

Why do we like what we like?

Psychoanalysis anybody?
I leave the subconscious and unspoken when they are. Maybe this is what I like about visual arts - things can be left outside of words.

 12.
Is thinking and talking about photographs not taken, or not taken yet, photography?
I would tend to say: yes it is.
One can think, create, talk and write about photographs that do not exist and never will.

 13.
You could ask bartenders same question. I did both, photographing and bartending events and did not "join in".

 14.
Light seals in the back can be replaced. It's a DIY project. There are miles of light seals in standard RB back. Here is a link to site selling sets of seals: http://aki-asahi.com/store/html/Mamiya-RB67/Light-seal/

 15.
Paul:
Yes it is correct that EV scale is connected to shutter speed lever - so to change shutter/aperture combination and keep same EV level, shutter lever is moved with clicks only at full stops 1/15th of a sec, 1/30th of a sec, 1/60th of a sec and so on. I do not know if setting the lever between 1/15 and 1/30 will produce 1/23 if a sec - if Rolleicord's shutter is stepless then yes.
EV scale can be set with 1/3 increment via shutter lever - so one can have value of EV 11, 11 1/3, 11 2/3 set.
Again please note I do not use EV settings, so my explanation might be not clear enough - for me interlock between shutter and aperture in a nuisance, I have to remember that shutter lever changes shutter speed and aperture at the same time.
All best.

 16.
My Rolleicord V has 1/3 aperture stops. I do not use EV scale, but it is adjusted by the same lever as aperture so it looks like 1/3 stops as well - and yes they are clickable.

 17.
There are not many cameras that are of the size and weight of your Rolleicord, RB or RZ is much bigger. Why not get a Rolleiflex with better 80mm lens on it? Personally I have no complains about my Rolleicord's lens quality.

 20.

Humanity is about thinking out of the box...our success as a species.

We were successful as a species without much change for quite a bit. For 190 thousand years we were knapping stones in various styles before our civilization started to evolve technically on a faster pace.

 21.

endless path that we walk

There is no path, there are cycles, small ones enclosed in larger ones.

 23.

I want it to be future proof...

Futile efforts ;))))

 24.
What field of photography your friend is thinking of pursuing? For some it might matter if you shot pornography for some it doesn't. For some people association with ultra conservative Catholicism is a warning sign.
