    <p>I do agree that "enthusiast" does not have a great ring to it. It is a progression from dreadful "hobbyist" but I'm ready for some 21st century verbiage: "Maniac Level DSLR" or "Addict Level DSLR" would do for me.</p>

    <p>My 17-55mm 2.8 nikkor had loose rubber covering of zoom ring after 5 years of use. There was nikon's original double sided tape underneath, which lost it's stickiness. I replaced it with regular double sided scotch tape. No issues since. Maybe previous owner of your lens did the same. I would keep the lens, just add more double sticky tape to fix rubber in place.</p>

    <p>Having your camera slightly higher than models face gives a perspective emphasizing eyes. It also make a person look slightly up - eyes open wider - but watch out for wrinkles on forehead, do not go too high.</p>

    <p>I use Canon Serenar 35mm 3.5 LTM lens - same period and technology as your Nikkor. It produces low contrast, low color saturation, low sharpness images - I like it that way.</p>

    <p>Something similar happened to me in the past. Negative holder has to be placed with indented side toward hinge. When I had it other way around I would get error message.</p>

    <p>You forgot to mention that it will also have a cloaking device built in, permanently on, so no one will be able to see it. For storage it will use operators brain, transferring images (with no buffer limitations) straight to the persons mind. Did I mentioned that according to the rumors it will be free?</p>
