Carl ,i'd suggest checking out that big auction site (*bay) , they have lots of original Rollei accessories , even generic ones (bay 1) shouldn't be that expensive , compared to bay II and III , the ones for Yashicamat should be ok. they got a website (*Bay au) in australia, i think. good luck ! pc

thanks guys , i was really interested in this lens , and did a search , but i would rather hear (actual experiences) from you guys , also i thot this would be nice for my little Exa , thinking maybe it'd be a great portrait lens and at F2.8,that should result in a very pleasing background blur.
anyway , so glad i didn't get the lens ,almost did tho Harvey, i bought extension tubes instead so i can play around with a bit of Macro , when i get a chance to take a holiday back in our farm.
thanks to everyone that shared ...pc

thanks for the comment and suggestions guys , will try my luck on a self fix thingy first , then call for help from the experts , if need be. cheers ! pc

thanks David , the first part of your comment kinda scared me , but made me feel better before your post ended , thanks for your ideas and experience shared ... pc

Omar , i'm not a Pro , but i would suggest : which ever of your lenses you use when shooting at low light situations w/o flash (slow shutter speeds) it'll definitely improve the images if you used a tripod. (and maybe a cable release ?) enjoy ! ... pc

Hi Guys, my first time to post in here , and i need help,i'm
sure Martin would know the answer .
I have 2 Minox 35s : one is a GT (which works flawlessly for
the past 5 yrs.) and an EL (i'm having trouble with the shutter on
this one).Just recently , the shutter would sometimes
stick,sometimes it's fine.
do i have to send this to Germany for a CLA? or is there a
cheaper/easier remedy that i could try first myself? or sell it ,
and buy another GT?
would appreciate any comments and suggestions from you guys
that are knowledgeable with problems with Minoxes .. thanks , pc

sorry , another question : but why sell a camera that works like a charm ? i'd keep it ... think well b4 you let go .. cheers! pc

oh and i prefer the 45mm lens to the 50mm, just like i enjoy shooting with my 3.5F more than my 2.8F Rolleiflex. ..pc

thanks Patrick and Mike for the quick response. nicely done pics Mike , as always . yep , now i got a pretty good idea how this lens performs . not bad really , but i'd still prefer the Tessar configuration anytime.. pc

hi ! was just checking out a camera with this lens, and was
just wondring if any of you have used/shot photos, and seen results
with this particular lens, and your conclusion ? TIA ....pc

WOW ! thanks guys, never thot i'd get so much support trying to get my classic arsenal together. thank you for the wonderful response i got from you guys.
Mike: yeah ! we get a bit of the low pressure stuff and a bit of rain here once in a while, and it makes things worse.
WOW !what a collection you got there MAN! and i think you're getting some more.I enjoy looking at your shots tho Mike, it encourages me to look at stuff in a different perspective, rather than just plainly tripping the shutter whenever i felt like it.
so, the way i look at this is: most of you guys tend to be on the side of the Retina IIa, which is like (in this situation)a US$25 something more than the Vito II,and is a bit more beat up cosmetically.
am not a collector BTW, i'm only a bassplayer with a passion for photography, and i have a feeling some of you know wha ah mean.hehehe . (dun even know how to explain to the wife) when this piece of gear arrives on our doorstep, where it came from.
will try and balance things, and see what happens. thanks again to all that gave their opinions and ideas.
thank you for that beautiful shot Ed B. and your knowledge shared. you can laugh at me, but i guess i'm leaning towards the cheaper lighter , slower, smaller , Voigtlander Vito II. but we'll see , and definitely tell you what happens. Gratchi Mile ! pc

black nail polish (in small amounts ,brushed lightly and evenly) is what i've done to my Pentax KM shutter curtain. not sure it'll work for your particular purpose tho Kelly ,but it did for mine.
still using my Pentax KM , without the pinholes now.

deep breath hold, elbows braced firmly agaist body(waist)or nearby post(wall),trip shutter slowly till it shoots.yep, and try and stay away from drinking too much coffee before a serious photo shoot. my two cents ....pc

i totally agree with Jim S. asking her what she wants/needs would be the best thing to do. Better yet , take her to a local camera store , and tell her to point out what she wants/needs in there.. it might get far beyond your budget though, if you know what i mean.. hehehe ! scary huh? good luck ! pc

good one ! Kevin .. LOL ... pc
