Hi Martin. First the good points. You have caught the action at the right moment. We can see what is going on and the overall feel and the mood of the photo is obvious.
Now for the constructive points. The shutter speed used is too slow as is has blured the main figures. The lens you are using is not too good for indoor shots as the max appature is too small. The shutter needs to be about 2 or 3 times faster for this kind of shooting. I have found that for most volleyball you need about 1/300 sec especially with a longer lens.
Hope this helps,
Glen

Shots for a wedding dress designer. Any comments appreciated.
Thanks.

Well at least you got the winners car.
Chris, not too bad an effort. In my opinion, to try to make the title stand out, I would try and slow the shutter speed right down to get the crew blurred a little whilst the car is stopped. that to me would create the sense of busyness in the pits.

Hi Katie,
I am definatly NOT wothout sin, so please don't take this as casting stones...
I do like the idea, however, I think I can offer a few ideas or thoughts on this pic.
I'm not a big fan of cutting off the dress in such a wide shot, and it seems a shame to loose such a small portion of it.
The setting and the steps are a good idea, however the background with the fence and the gate are not so good to look at. Another thing, is the positioning of the girls is such that you can't really see the guys in the arrangement. They are kind of straining to be seen.
The exposure seem very good and the general arrangement is nice too.
Hopefully you take this as constructive as it is not meant to be negative.
Cheers

A nice enough shot, but shooting from a lower viewpoint (if possible) might help to isolate her action a little more. Also, try to reduce the depth of field to retain the focus on the athlete.

Great timing, and the action is well captured. It's great to be able to do justice to kids sport. Nice work.

Well done. Great aspect.

The background is a little too bright which distracts the wiewer from the bird.If you could make the bird stand out from the bg it would be better.

One of a flock of ducks that I managed to capture on a bleak

Great photo with very nice emotion and feeling. I am a little distracted by the standing models' straight arm. to me it doesn't convey the same desire as the lower model. It is almost a negative feeling that I can't properly explain. It just doesn't look relaxed, like the rest of the picture.
Thanks
Glen.

It is difficult to know what you are trying to capture in this photo. The Arms and the eyes look awkward to me. I like the legs and the pointed toes, however I don't think that the pose does the model justice.
Thanks

I truely appreciate what you have done with this.
IMHO, I would like to see just a little more DoF, even just to see all of the eyes in focus.
But Hey, just my thoughts.

A fast release is crucial from the ruck. Here is the typical way we
do it in Aust.
