I think your photo is great. I haven't shot athletics before, so I maybe a little off line here. I might suggest a tighter shot and perhaps from a lower viewpoint, slightly. This might lessen the distance between the further hurdlesand therefor decrease your DoF.
  1. Hi Joseph, I was photographing this event in Sydney, and I am a little tired of the usual "spike and block" photos, so I was trying to get a different shot. Beach Volleyball gives you the edge over indoor for trying to capture "dig" shots, as you only have to concentrate on one player. Timing and patience are paramount for this sort of shot. Thanks for the question. Glen D

Hi Matt. I ahve been doing Sports photos for a while now, and I feel that to capture a good shot, it is important to try to get facial expressions. Whilst this a nice photo, seein the grimace on the faces is usually good fun.

Thanks guys for your thoughts. I was sitting at home and saw this fire ball outside my window, so I thought, being a photographer and a Firefighter it was too good an oportunity to miss.

    I'm all ears

UNfortunatly, the camera shake reduces the quality of the photo. I don't know if the car in the foreground was intended, but I think it helps.

Hi and thanks for the input. The dimentions that I have cropped the pic were for printing, so it was fairly limiting. I do however agree with your advice, thanks.

The cars are Formula V's. A few steps down from Formula 3, and Formula Fords.

    Cheers
