I agree with Leszek that it is pushing it to get to all of those areas in a week. As he said, travel times are significantly longer than you might expect. Highway 89 between Zion, Bryce and Capitol Reef is a beautiful drive and worth the leisurely pace .My suggestion is to spend the time between Zion, Bryce and Capitol Reef. Capitol Reef is significantly less crowded than either Zion or Bryce and well worth spending some time. Steve Howe of Redrock Adventures in Torrey, Utah conducts photo tours of Capitol Reef-and some of the spots such as the Lower Cathedral Valley really call for high clearance or a 4 wheel drive vehicle.

Thanks for viewing and your kind comment. We have a large rock in our yard, which is a great water feature. It's only about 20 feet from the window of my study. I've gotten in the habit of leaving my D710 with the 80-400mm lens at hand- good photographic opportunities but not great for concentrating on other tasks. Thanks again, Phil

Serra Chapel-Old Mission Santa Barbara
phillips commented on phillips's gallery image in Uncategorized
Thanks for your viewing and comment. I am just about finished with a project of photographing specific areas of Old Mission Santa Barbara. This chapel is a modern addition to the mission, and was formerly known as the Friar's Chapel and was used for the resident Franciscan Friars. A few years ago, it was renamed and is now used for weekday services as well as a family mass on Sunday. This was a challenging spot-there are three different sources of light on different areas of the scene and the dynamic range was crazy; the image is an HDR of five different exposures space 1 ev apart. Thanks again, Phil -

While I haven't purchased any EOS open box items, I have purchased other open box items from Adorama, and have never been disappointed.

A beautiful IR image with the toning. I think the proportions of the image are just right. I played with the image a bit-cropping from the right to eliminate the right tree, and cropping a bit from the top and bottom to preserve the aspect ratio. To me the pier became more prominent and my eye wasn't being drawn to the bright tree on the far right hand side of the frame. My thoughts. Congratulations on a super photo, Phil
