Film Camera Week for March 8
Don Harpold replied to Mike Gammill's topic in Classic Manual Film Cameras
Hello Been awhile, lots of rain. These are from the SRT101, it appears the focus is off, I can not believe I missed by that much. It was a very dark day and most were shot close to wide open. I will have to try another roll and see what happens Delta 100 HC110 Dil.E -

Hello Greg I really like this photo I don't have to think about or analyze or wonder what your thinking was, It just strikes me Great Shot! Don -
Hello All Thank you for the comments, I did check the battery and it is in correctly and the contacts are clean as the battery check does work, I did take it outside in strong light and no movement. John, Is the baseplate held on with the two "TINY" screws on the ends or are there more inside? I will check once I finish the roll in the camera Thanks Again Don

Hello All I received and excellent condition Minolta SRT-101 and put a "new" 1.35 625 battery in and the battery check works but the needle does not move when set to on, am I doing something wrong or? Is there a "simple" fix or is the meter done? I understand that no battery is needed for it to function, but kinda wanted one with a meter Thanks Don

Hello all I retired July 1st and finally got settled into the new digs and got a roll of HP5 loaded into a Fed2 with a Jupiter 8 chrome and will take some shots this weekend. Don -
Thanks everyone Just thinking out loud and was looking for another small meter and since they are cheap thought I would try one.

Hello Rick I have a Canon P with a wrinkled curtain which does not effect the operation or photos. It looks like it is in great condition and should yield great photos. Hope it works well. Don

Film Camera Week for August 3

Hello Rick and all I have not liked the Kentmere 400 or the Ultrafine Extreme 400 for any shots with sky and clouds, as I hate the excessive grain in either 35mm or 120. I have found better results with XP-2 developed with HC110, I haven't tried it with Pyrocat, but I think you will find the grain much better. Anyway just my thoughts. 35mm Minolta 7S I may have blown out a little on the clouds on this one Autocord 120mm Don -
I had the same with a Pilot 1 it seemed to happen after I was using it for a time and after letting it set for awhile it was ok, so maybe using it over and over running the needle back and forth for quite a few readings magnetizes it ?? could that be a possibility?

Hello Rick Yes I am using the Epson scan to adjust while in preview before I do the final scan. I ran the rest through PS and did see a lot of blue in some of the photos, I have tried to adjust and here are some results. I may have wrecked some of the other colors trying to make the changes. anyway here are a few Umbrellas red flower warning wall plant and this one had a lot of blue especially in the concrete at the bottom left and now I think the green is off?? -

Thanks Rick I did notice the last photo when I was done seemed to have a little too much blue, in preview I am trying to adjust down on the cyan and I do not remember if I bumped up the blue, should I adjust a little down on the blue toward yellow? Should I cut back on saturation, etc. I am just scanning and then adjusting each, ie; cyan/red green/magenta and blue/yellow to what looks good on my screen. I was told on some previous scans I had way too much cyan so I keeping trying to shy away from that end. again thanks for the comments, Don -

Hello Again I just got this roll back from the processor FotoExpress in San Jose, CA I got them scanned this evening and half of them run through PS so thought I would post a few. These came out of the Canonet QL17 GIII and the film is Fuji Pro400h, Not bad on the color, for me anyway! I hope you will honestly critique my scanning, I am trying to do less as it is more, but let me know if you see something I need to correct, ie: too much, too little cyan, red blue, yellow or green.magenta. Thanks condos I even used the Digital Ice on this one and a couple others drips just some dumb flowers cone water stand -

Thanks Rick I did figure it out and the Watson does work, I was trying to open the cassette instead of closing it as it won't open until the spring clip is pulled away from the body of the cassette. -

Thanks Rick Very impressed with the colors and the way they turned out. A question to you or any of the others who use Leica Barnacks, I got a couple of the FILCA ? film cassettes and they don't seem to work with my loaders, is there a special film loader that they work with? I use the Watson loaders. Thanks Don
