Excellant.

I'd crop a chunk of the bottom I think.
Nice all the same.
Did you ask him?

Fantastic John. I was scrolling through all those girlie shots and then this just lept out at me.

Hi Barry. Some of the kids do have an almost crazy look. It more than likely comes from being mal-nourished.
-
Good idea on the title!
There is so much going on here, it's great.
-
Another good picture. I wasn't convinced by the colour balance, hope you don't mind me fiddling.
The chap in the upper middle seems to be giving his nads a good scratch. Can't decide myslef whether this makes the pictures or is rather unfortunate!

Great portrait.
-
I'd agree with more DOF. Way too shallow.
-
Interesting shot, but you need to sort out the colour balance and saturation as at the moment it's a bit of a mess.
-
Dennis is indeed correct.
This one needs to be re-printed, maybe on a nice big bit of fiber paper. It will indeed be cropped further.
-
Yes it's cropped a little.
I was quite happy with it Elliot. I thought Mercy had a look of defiance as she looks out into the crowd, meanwhile Percile-Liz has spotted me and is looked straight at the lens.
Couldn't get on the platform (and frankly didn't want to) and couldn't move back for three reasons, the thousands standing behind me, I was already heading towards 200mm, my flash gun won't throw much further.
Personally I think it's shameful that in Scotland we lock up men women and children who have commited no crime, that's why I was there that day, not just to take pictures but to take part.

Hi Elliot,
If you click on large you'll see it without the added photonet compression which can make pictures look flat.
I've used it a couple of times since and cropped it tighter on the left. Printing it with a black boarder solves any problem with the banner.

What's the story?
-
Much prefer the original, it looks natural, the one at the top of the page does not.
-
I rather think you should have running down the stair to try and get a decent shot while kicking yourself for letting the other guys get there first.
-
I agree with Luis about the partial de-saturation, it's a good shot ruined by this effect. Mixing b&w and colour as people do now digital is widely available is like the mad Cokin filter craze of the 70's and 80's.
Not sure I want the Lecia though, manual film winder, no auto bracket, manual focus.....! Good camera to use when you need to be discreet but that's about it. Ancient relics!
Some brilliant pictures in your folders Marina.
-
Brilliant picture. A bit soft though.
-
-
Terrible contrast and the background is completely washed out. You chopped the feet off too.
-
Very nice indeed, seesm to have a slightly red colour cast though.
-
Hi Iain, yup I tried to push the yellow saturation to get a bit of colour in the boats and maybe get that warm winter sun look but I maybe pushed it a bit too much, it does seem a little yellow now. Don't forget the hacksaw as well as the tri-pod next time.

Jacque is spot on with the background. Might be worth experimenting with rotating the neg also, though I'm not sure.
This is one pretty lady but one I would'nae mess with going by that expression!
Konzo girls.

Hi Marina. I really like this one, it's fantastic. I think you should be able to bring more out of it. One to play around with until you have brought every detail out. I've messed about with it again and probably taken it a bit too far. Hope you don't mind.
