walk along college at bathurst or queen at bathurst at night on a weekend for some 'characters ' of the night.
-
oh that's good

would be nice to see this get some press, rather than day after day shots of bush oggling phelps' gold medals :)

'Can one create a documentary under the pretense of being someone else? Must one be true behind the camera to depict truth before it?' -FRANK
yes. no. i recall a photo series on crack dealers/users. (forget the name of the photographer) but they got into the scene, 'posing' as users to have intimate access.
i've sometimes responded with 'i dont understand you' spoken in another language because i'm simply not in the mood or don't have the time to get into it with someone that may have been bothered by me taking a pic or footage.

i agree peter. i had a discussion with a friend the other day. he said i would be breaking the law if i took a picture of someone after they said not to. i disagree with this, and was just wondering if there was a page that sort of lays out the 'rules' of the street that i could point him to.

looking for a link that discusses (or spells out) the law in canada for shooting on a street.
this has nothing to do with publication or profit from said pictures/footage of people on the street.
thanks

things that are not mass made are not really over priced. i don't think it's really fair to say it should only cost x amount because of a dslr cost comparison. just like a porsche. anything that's made in small batches will cost more. whether it's worth it or not is up to the user.

wow! lots of ideas here. sounds like a i need a month! since the hotel is in that broadway/77 area, it may be easiest to take jonathan's suggestion and just walk as long as i can south on broad.
i was also recommended famiglia pizza by a good friend. i love food. this short trip could prove problematic. :)

steak for dinner (think and blue in the middle) and a smoked meat sandwich for lunch.
kind of lame to ask where to go, but my time is so limited, that i'd like to just walk some cool hoods without ending up in some tourist infused area like times square.
thanks

ok, so i'm in NY this weekend and will have maybe half a day to walk around on
my own. i'm staying in the upper west side (broadway & 77th), so i'd like to go
somewhere not far away. note: this is my first time in NY.
also, if i could eat at one restaurant here that would change my life, what
would it be?
thanks

was using a friends old dirty epson flatbed scanner to get these digitized. i do this more as a way to see what i've got then decide, which ones will be scanned or printed properly.
oh i also was recently leant the new aperture program to try out, and don't have a grasp on it at all. wish i had the curves function of PS.
yes, the 24 is a challenge. i normally stick with a 35, but figured it's fun to play around once in a while
thanks for the comments! :)
