Most people say these are "cliche'" but I always like sunsets... Things I would do differently if it were me: Watch that horizon! Be sure it's level and I would place the horizon somewhere other than the middle of the frame.
-
I like the use of shallow DOF to make the subject stand out. Only a 200mm? Must have been a bit nervous being that close!
-
Please critique and comment if you will. This photo was taken on a
roof about 3 blocks from the Space Needle on New Year's 2002. I
burned 3 rolls that night and like 3 of the frames. (Too much smoke
after the first few seconds of fireworks!!)
Thanks for looking.

My girlfriend took this photo and would appreciate critique! It
wasn't taken on 01-01 like the deatail area says but I don't remember
the date...
Thank you for your comments!

I like the way the smaller rocks lead your eye to the larger ones. The photo looks a little hazy to me. It could be the scan? Or maybe sea spray? I would have liked a polarizer also.

I think you need both. Posed pictures have their place but candids are so... well, candid. You gotta love the feelings they convey that posed pictures cannot. But for more "formal" events, you gotta have some posed ones also. Sorry to ride the fence but as they say, "everything in moderation!" By the way, I like this boat picture it's posed but still dynamic because of the kid on the right that isn't part of the main group.

Looks good. Maybe a little cropping on top, bottom & left side would help it a bit... Gotta love those fireworks shots!

I like the use of shallow DOF to emphasise just her foot. BTW... congrats!

Even though the eyes aren't sharp, one can still see the feeling of longing in them. I like the feeling of this photo. I also like the photo of the "Little Lady in the Park" her eyes are amazing. Good job!

Not your "run of the mill" sunset photo. The reflected sky is in great contrast to the blue of the ice. At least I think that's the ice. I don't really care for the reflected clouds though. Overall, this is a great photo!

Great use of the boardwalk as a line to lead your eye to the lighthouse. A wonderful photo!

I like the crop but the background is too cluttered. Good capture of the sly smile too, it makes me wonder what the model's thinking.

Great perspective! I really like the angle and color of this shot. Nice catch - probably for your best friend too, I imagine :)

Would those two holding the sign still have chosen to hold said sign if any of their friends, family, or other loved ones would have perished either in the WTC towers or Pentagon that 11th day in September? Somehow, I feel not.
Oh, I should be commenting on the photo...you missed some color on some guy's head below the sign.

Interesting perspective. Original. Looks like you may have been in trouble with the small amount of TP left on the roll.

Need I say more? My girlfriend has some pictures of the inside of the Vatican and I *think* she said they wouldn't allow flash photography. I could be wrong, maybe she and Peter are just slick.

That darn branch!! Also I would have liked to see the head of the snake if possible.
-
Wow! Spectacular color saturation. Great photo.

Gregory,
An amazing photo. The lights on the pier and the reflections on the beach make it stunning. The horizon looks as though it may be tilted but it could be an illusion due to the pier's pilings. Excellent job!

Marcelo,
A couple of things I would have done differently are: Crop the bottom of the photo to lower the horizon, it seems too close to the middle of the photo; Use a polarizer to bring out the color of the sky and water; Also, it seems out of focus, scanner maybe?
