Handheld, tripods not allowed :( Part of my first roll of floral and
fauna shots. Need advice please!!
Thanks in advance,
David.

This guy was a real character, he insisted I take some photos of
him. He made it abundantly clear that he was a "real American
cowboy" from Montana - then he asked me for some money :) Must have
thought I was a tourist...

My first attempt at a flower shot...

Crop out the sign that says "this is the printworks" and the people in black to either side of the girl and I think you got something here. I really like the impact of the red hair and clothes! I think the other things make for clutter in this photo.

Absolutely stunning. A beautiful photo - I would hang this one on my wall in a heartbeat!
Great work!

Wow, I did some of these from *inside* my car looking out but, yours is truely unique. You must really trust that clamp! Great photo!

I like the copper tones in this photo. I would have liked to see sun on the lighthouse too, but it works just fine as a sillouette.

Wow, very surreal. Kinda reminds me of those old plate prints? Not sure what they were for sure but art of old anyhow. I like the effect you've achieved.

I like the composition and the reflections on the water. One thing that bothers me is the rope but that may just be me. Great photo.

but not really my cup of tea. I think I may have liked it better without the words. The angelic image may be strong enough to convey the messeages you have placed in the trees without words. Keep at it!

I like this photo, the grain looks good. I like the angle too. Only wish the arm wasn't so burned out but it looks like a tough lighting situation with such strong lights so close to the subject. I would guess this is the Cirque du Soleil?

he didn't want a print sent to him, he would have undoubtedly been disappointed with his "portait!"

I don't know what freeway's tail looks like so it's hard to say whether or not it should be included. The dog sans the tail looks much like a bear, so if that's an effect you want, leave the photo as it is.

Way cool shot! I like the "x" pattern made by the corners of the buildings. I think it works with the threatening sky better than it would have with a clear blue one too.
Happy shooting,
David.

Photographers are suposed to use cute fuzzy things that squeak to get the kids to smile, not spiders! Great moment captured! I like the tight framing too!
Happy shooting,
David.

I like it. too bad that banners there though!
-
I too like the cactus in the frame. The reds are intense!

For the first time, I think I may want to visit a desert. What a beautiful photo of *sand*! It is wonderful in it's simplicity.
Happy shooting,
David.

Reminds me of that movie so long ago...What were they called...Moguais? Very nice portrait of your little buddy! I like the way the backlighting makes his hair glow.

I think I would have tried for a sillouette instead of fill flash. What are the dark things above and right of the camel, flies? They are a distraction.

The branches are okay but I would have probably left them out myself. If they were more colorful like with flowers on them I think the effect would be better. Perhaps you should try using a polarizing filter to bring out the sky a little.
Happy shooting,
David.

Uh, that there would be a Porche. I like the perspective and overall the photo. My only complaint is the glaring lights in the background, above the *Porche*. But, I know you probably couldn't get them to turn off the lights for your photo! I would also crop just a little off the right edge...
Happy shooting,
David.

This photo is really interesting. It IS way too dark but for some reason, I keep wanting to look at it. I can't say why though... I do like the detail in the hand, I just wish the photo was lighter so I could see more detail in the subject's face. I think you're onto something here but I think a little tweaking is in order.
Happy shooting,
David.

You must be an expert panner! I think you got this one right on - I like the perfect choice of shutter speed - you can see the dogs in focus but the background and their feet are blurred!
