Oops, I can't believe I just did that and I can't figure out how to get rid of it... well, here's the correct image... (sorry)

Christy,
At first I thought, is she crazy this is about primary colors - but then tried it and I think it makes a better photo, take a look. And thank you for your suggestion!

lol - that's one of those tilting lakes. Yeah, I wasn't paying close attention to this one when I took it and well, everyone can see what happened! Thanks for commenting!

Great story going on here. I only wish the water wasn't so washed out.

The bold color, strong lines and rope texture caught my eye. The
scan washed out some of the rope's detail to my dismay.

And I thought hauling around a puppy was the best technique. I've been doing it wrong this whole time.
My 2 cents on this photo: Crop the bottom and the right edge to get the duck out of the center of the frame. Then wait until he matures and make roast duck. ;)

I was intrigued by the juxtapositon.

Joel,
If your camera has a flash, you should try using it when taking photos like this, even in the daylight. The flash would have helped eliminate the dark shadows under your eyes and noses.

Brings a whole new meaning to the industry term, "In the can." Great capture.

There should be a function on your imaging software that allows you to rotate your image - I would venture a suggestion of ~90* to the left. I like the image, but not the guy in the background.

Water. It's in the clouds as a vapor. Good one. Nice photo too though I think if the sun was a little more obscured, it may be a bit more pleasing.

I like the cool lighting and interesting cropping in this photo. I gotta quit taking photos of plants and find some subjects like this (to broaden my horizons, of course...)

I think the background is just fine as it is. You can still see exactly what is going on but it's being out of focus causes us to direct our attention more to the girl. If the background was sharp as the previous poster suggested, the girl (who makes the photo) would be lost in the clutter. Excellent photo.

I like the boats in this image, it makes it more interesting than the typical skyline shot. I was thinking maybe a grad nd filter dark side down would make this even better by allowing the city lights to come out more. The warm glow of the lights on the boats is very pleasing, it offsets the cool blue of the sky. Wonderful photo.

Because he isn't frowning?

Kinda dark, in my opinion. I think that bright light fooled your camera's meter perhaps a flash would have been a good idea.

Lindsay,
I would suggest filling your frame more with your subjects in photos such as this. This photo would probably have more appeal if it were tighter. I saw you are limited to 80mm with your current lens so I'm sure that makes it difficult to get in tighter. I would also venture to say perhaps you could try using a polarizing filter to bring out the sky some too. On a final note, try to move your horizon line away from the middle of the frame for a more dynamic photo. Of the 3 photos you have posted thus far, the Badwater in Death Valley is my favorite. Keep shooting!!

Wonderful composition. Exposure looks great too.

Very nice. I like the skin tones and detail.

Love it! I only wish I could see her other eye. Great perspective and cropping.

I think it's beautiful. I understand about the highlights... I only wish that flower on the lower right wasn't there. (Should have plucked that one ;) ) It does look like it's glowing. Well done.

Looks good in the small size but the med. size looks quite grainy. If the actual slide is sharp, it's probably a great photo. I like the colors!

I see the green, I see the ladybug and cat but I don't see the guppy shadow. That looks like one huge ladybug. Title should be "Big ladybug ready to pounce."
