Hi- What do you guys charge for (Let's keep it simple) 8x10's, 5x7's & 4x6's?
I charge $5.00 for a 4x6 and have people tell me I am way to high-huh? How can
that be? Anyway- what are your experiences?
Thanks
Rob

It is the same everywhere. I went to buy a new cell phone today. You would have thought I asked the girl for her unborn child. I came so close to just saying screw it and walking out but I needed a new phone- so I guess I am part of the problem not the solution!

Mike- no answer for your above question, however I have to tell you that I tried looking at your site but the way your pictures come into focus turned me off- off your site. Just an FYI.

I have the 70-200 2.8 and the 1.4 MK II tele, my 40D is the only camera I have that will AF this combo. Not my 1D MKII, 30D, 20D or 10D. If that helps.

The answer for you can be determined only by you- with that said, I have the 70-200 2.8 non is. This is my primary lens, I even use it for group shots of 25 or more people (as long as I have the room to move back) it is a fantasticly sharp lens, I love it for portraits of couples and or singles. I just recently got the 1.4 MK II tele extender and that gives my 280mm @f4- seems to only focus with my 40D though- not even with my 1D MKII. Just wanted to add my experience with this lens.

on a side note- Tyra you need a better website, you do amazing work and yet your site doesn't allow the viewer to really see anything. JMHO.

If you have the command dial on the green rectangle (on the left side of camera) this puts the camera in complete auto, where it chooses everything. Put the command dial in either "P", "AV", "TV" or "M" and you can control the camera. When the ISO reads "H" it is at it's highest setting, i.e. 3200

Kevin missed- the 40D is weather sealed as well.
I have the 1DMKII- I have even thought about selling it and getting the 40D- For me it would be an easy decision of getting the 40D over the 1DMKII. Let me know how that new AF works.

I have not, however I do have the vagabond II and have used a few times since I got it (2 weeks ago) It says in the manual that if you use a GFCI you don't have to worry about getting shocked- I went out to home depot and bought one and it works like a charm. That was one big consideration- Having to stick something in the ground or attach the aligator clips to a metal sign- I did not want to be limited. I know this has little to do with your orginal question, but I thought I would put this in.

Curious- I am about 3 minutes from him- Am I still Eligible? Last time he had a seminar, I tolf him I was in the next town and he said no.

Puppy Face- that isn't the BG-E2N- that is the wifi grip. The difference between the 2N and 2 is it has weathersealing.

Didn't you just move from LA to UTAH?

You have to pay showit web $50 every time to publish a slideshow?? Hmm, I guess that is how David Jay bought that Million dollar home in Hollywood. He is certainly taking lessons from Gary Fong.

If they are promising Sep 20 figure on Oct 20th.

Thanks for this, I love how Canon notifies their customers-NOT!

Good point Colin, my 1D MKII came with one also-

I was in best buy today and was surprised to see a 5D with a 24-105F4L lens. There were fingerprints all over the front element- Surprised that they would put a lens like that out for the public to destroy.

The WPJA is a joke. They do not follow their own guidlines. If a Photographer is popular they will accept them irregardless of their OWN "STRICT" guidlines.

I am just curious, since you are on both sides of the fence.
To expensive how?
Expensive like A Mercedes with a Cheverolet budget?

I just got the Tamrac 695 LP5 Big Wheels Rolling Strongbox - Black. I like it as it holds all my gear. (3 bodies- a 70-200 2.8, 24 1.4, 50 1.4, 85 1.8, 24-70 2.8, 17-40 4, 2 canon 550ex flashes, 2 cpe-3 battery packs, 70 batteries AA's, chargers, 3 pocket wizards, extraBP 511A batteries, CF Cards.
The nice thing I really like about it is when you open it, there are straps on the sides that keep the lid at 90 degree angle.

Agreed- don't worry about that number. I printed a picture straight from the camera of my 1dMKII and it was the same thing 40something by 30 something at 72DPI. I had it printed at around 20x30 and it is a perfect print.

I have 20 for this year so far, and 2 for next year. Hoping to get at least 10 more this year.
-
somewhat off topic, but the 1D MK III has a calibration tool in it to help with lenses that back/ front focus. You can calibrate each lens with the camera. Now I would tend to say that Canon should get their lenses right but at least you have some security.

"The monthly cost is $375" That is alot of money! I heard that "the knot" just bought the "weddingchannel" and they are greatly increasing their rates. I think it is a common example of greed. I hope they sink! Last year I was thinking of getting on the knot it was $85 a month for a full listing. This year a rep called and said the fee was $300+. I said, WHAT? In a year it went up that much? Greed!
