I think this is under-appreciated. It's hard to do this kind of thing as well as you've done it. All the elements flow and balance beautifully. It's a real eye-catcher.
Congrats,
Peter.

Tony, Gianni - many thanks for the encouragement.
Pierre and Chris - you're both exactly right - because of the back-light had to push up the ISO higher than I would have normally liked. I was on a steep slope, the light was fading fast, no time for a tripod, had to handhold, etc. It all made for an awkward POV. I appreciate your expert eyes and comments. Thank you.
Greg - interesting idea. I played with it a little, but I'm not going to take it too far. The trunk has a distracting pattern of lines that draws my eye away from the colours and leaves. I didn't like that, so I'll let the shot stand as is. Appreciate the idea none-the-less. Thanks.

I posted this in 2001, but have always liked it. Many thanks for "rediscovering" it all these years later and taking time to comment.
Best to you,
Peter.

Based on input from photo.net viewers - thanks particularly to Kenneth Waller's
suggestions - I made a few updates/improvements to this image. Comments are
welcome as always.
Thanks,

Your single photo series is amazing. Great work. This is one of my favourites - the upbeat mood and smiles spill out of the frame. Love it.
Congratulations.
Peter.

Wendell - you've captured a lot of emotion in this scene - well done.

Camilo,
Great colour, just the right depth of field, and I really like the subtle hint at two buds in the background just at the edge of focus. Great composition.
Compliments.

Very good capture.

Hi Rick,
Very eye-catching. I wonder how muting the sky, and letting the eye focus more on the tranquility of the pond and passers-by would have changed this. Regardless, eye-catching.
Best,
Peter.

Hi Scott,
Echoing Jim's comments - elegant simplicity is exactly what came to my mind. Very well done.
Congrats,
Peter.
