Superb colors, tones, and detail. Compositionwise nothing to improve, IMO. Framing is always a matter of taste, not sure about the effect of the green line. Anyway, 7/6 for me. Regards, Carsten

Now, how could I possibly resist this? I don't think I can. I've been thinking whether it needed a crop to each of the main trees, to emphasise the falls more, but don't think that's necessary. The composition as a whole works. I think points of interest in forest shots need a little room to breath, and this gives it plenty.

Peaceful feel with natural looking lighting. I agree with Vincent's comment on the detail in the shadows. Do long exposures work better than short ones for this?

to be honest, I do not know if a long exposure helps improve shadow detail. It is a good question, one worth doing some research on. In this scene, however, I was lucky that the lighting was quite diffuse. Velvia, even the 100F, is not very friendly in handling contrast. I also have to attribute part of this to my film scanner.

Nicely done. The challenge of this location to photograph is the varied lighting conditions. You have done a good job of balancing those extreme condition. One of my favorite location to photograph.

Very nicely done, Walt. This shouts "Medium Format!" from the moment one sees it. (I see that you don't hold back on your other equipment, either.) I would love to have seen this after the heavy rains, but I like this as it is, with just a trickle going over the falls.
