This is superb Walter. The mossy logs seemingly form a chinese letter or character (no I haven't been ingesting any controlled substances. I prefer them uncontrolled). The colors are eye popping, Velvia will do it every time!

That is an interesting observation Mark. It did not occur to me at the time nor during the workup but I see what you mean. I took a quick look at the Unihan Index to see if I could find anything that resembled this but gave up after a couple of thousand characters! Maybe some of your uncontrolled substance would have helped me ;0) I found one that very roughly resembled it in an incomplete sort of way, kind'a, maybe? This would make a nice game when out in the field.

A very nice motif, Walter, you had a good eye. I like the strong layered diagonals created by the fallen tree trunks, as well as the colors. I hope that digital will not wipe out film anytime soon...

I think the liquify filter or warp tool could have this baby speaking Mandarin in no time. Anyhow, I don't mean to speak lightly of your subject. This image is grandiose in concept and intrigue. Please shoot more, I don't see enough updates from you it seems.

Unique and interesting natural formation , many like this in the upper adirondacks , after the 1995 Micro burst 1000s of acres where literally leveled , looked like the jolly green giant walked through ...have a safe & Happy Holiday !
