Film Camera Week for February 25

Recommended Posts

Greetings, all, and welcome to our new thread. Post all the images you like from any film camera. I'll start with some images from a roll of Ilford HP5+ that I processed and scanned earlier in the week. Camera was Minolta XE-5 with MC Rokkor 55mm f 1.7.

Nothing recent right now, and haven't been out much lately to a minor injury. Here are two test photos taken last summer with an Agfa Isolette I, Ilford FP4+, medium yellow filter. First time posting medium-format here; my interest in 120 cameras has been limited to basic folders, box cameras, and pseudo-TLRs. They are affordable and I'm often surprised by the quality that can be had from these simple cameras. The Isolette's Agnar 85/4.5 triplet lens seems plenty sharp to me.

A previous owner had installed new bellows, but to my surprise the corners were not light-tight so I had to touch up the inside with black fabric paint (see John Seaman's recent post on pinholes in bellows).

Great work from the OM2, kklow; that Zuiko glass really is as good as it gets. Here are a few more from the Nikon FE with the35-70mm Nikkor f/3.5-4.5 lens. The film was Ilford FP4 Plus developed in PMK Pyro.

Yes Rick the Zuiko lenses do perform as well as what they are reputed to do. In fact I find that most lenses of the old film generation perform pretty well as you yourself have clearly demonstrated in your excellent mini reviews and photo shoot. Alas, the problem I find these days is the dreaded camera shake and inaccurate manual focus. I guess that's the trade off that us old timers have to accept when we qualify for Senior Citizens freebies and concessions! BTW my friends call me KK.

I had a film failure a few days back preventing me from posting something new. These were shot this morning using my Nikon N80 and 35mm AFD F2. Film was HP5 developed in HC110 dilution B for 5 minutes.

Restoration needed
