G-P
Hello All - I've been updating prior updates with developments but here is the latest from our dev team: Speed throughout the site should be improving steadily as more servers are brought on to handle increasing traffic and load. All search engines are re-crawling the site so that does tend to spike load when that occurs, but again, shouldn't be an issue as more hardware is brought online. - Update: (Continues 2/21)Hidden Folders - we have a v1 solution released in your Member Center called "My Library" (see attached) - it will get some additional polish in the coming days/weeks but it tested functional and we wanted to get something out sooner than later. Update (2/21)- Lightbox has been added so you can view full image within your Member Center (without doing the back and forth of going to the photo detail page URL). This is also being added to MyPortfolio>Photos later today. Tracking Comments is in QA now hope to release something on that within the next 24-48 hours - Update: Check in "MyProfile" and "Your Activity" for tracking comments on photo both comments made on other photos and comments made on your photos. Log In/ Log Out - should also have seen some improvements. Some of you may have expectations of staying logged in forever, but our Dev crew says that is not recommended, but instead use the browser function auto fill found in most modern day browsers.Member Center - speed, galleries, sorting are all on the table. They have not been able to get to this one yet, we know how important it is, but we had to focus on a few but this is coming soon. Update: (Continues 2/21)Other Notable Updates (coming soon): Search within the forums is being upgraded. Sort bar is being added to public galleries. Breadcrumb Navigation is being added to photo landing pages Profile Page - upgrade (minimize/expand profile section) "Get Link" button added to galleries and photos. - done. Lightbox Upgrade: subtle < > arrows either side of photo, to navigate within a gallery using only the lightbox. Not Here
Thanks Glenn: But the "Your Activity" comment tracking (both tabs) needs to be sorted by "Most Current" on top. The way it is now we have to search through every comment made to see which is current. Hate to say what you're tired of hearing but Ver. 1.0 was sorted by most current and worked great. A small chore for the programmer but a much more workable feature for us... Mike
Not Here
P.S. - To clarify my note above: The sort to most current on top should apply to the photograph itself AND the comments on each. Right now the written comments are jumbled, no discernible order. Thanks... Mike

Mike Got it, they are looking at now, hope to have update on this soon - it tested previously so we believe its related to a caching issue within the multiple servers, should be easy to sort (pun intended) out. JDMvW
I'm actually getting used to the new site. However I cannot find the viewer preferences page to set things like pages vs. no pages of posts. I sure hope I've either missed it or that it will be coming back. BTW, do you realize that search on a page does not search the whole thread, merely the page that is displayed?
Sanford
My biggest complaint is, when viewing gallery thumbnails and clicking on one to see it full size, there is no way to get back to where I just was. The back button takes me back to the beginning of galleries no matter how far I'm in. The back button needs to return to the return to the exact spot I left in the galleries. Opening to a new page would be ok or a new tab. Also, miss the slideshow option. I would like to arrange my gallery photos by date, newest first. I don't care to drag the new photos from last place to the top, that would be a time consuming nightmare and they probably wouldn't stay put anyway.

Brad_
Any progress on being able to create paragraphs by just pressing the carriage return key? Rather than settling for a giant single paragraph that's difficult to read due to too many sentences. (the previous sentence should be in a new paragraph) 1 www.citysnaps.net
Leslie Reid
settling for a giant single paragraph The temporary work-around is Reply #2 in the How-to thread, but I'm guessing you already know about that.
Norma Desmond
Leslie, I tried the usual (br)(br) (with carets, of course) in my post to the current POTW and, unlike in the forums, it didn't generate a paragraph break there. And, since there is no 10-minute edit period in the POTW forum, I couldn't try something else or try to figure out what went wrong. We didn't need dialogue. We had faces! Leslie Reid
it didn't generate a paragraph break there If only things were as simple as they should be....and now the irony: I think that in comments you may be able to go ahead and use the regular paragraph return instead of HTML code. But I can't tell at the moment since I can't get comments to show up. Anyway, I'll let you know as soon as I figure it out. And not being able to edit photo comments is indeed a major pain. Dieter Schaefer
Any progress on being able to create paragraphs by just pressing the carriage return key? Rather than settling for a giant single paragraph that's difficult to read due to too many sentences. Would like an ETA for that fix too. I am aware of the workaround but that issue needs a solution sooner rather than later. Many aren't aware of the workaround, forget about it or are unwilling to use it. It was already bad on the old site, but what we have now is worse than hitting "Return" twice. <br><br> The bad thing is that the paragraph spacings are visible when typing but disappear when the text is posted. (the previous sentence should be in a new paragraph) still working on it with xenforo - however in the meantime you can create breaks with the bullet function as I have been with the updates. Rough, I know, but effective for now.

Norma Desmond
Leslie, this is insane. I made that statement more than a week ago and THIS is the progress we've made! I'm supposed to remember an HTML code to use and then remember to go back and do it again for it to take hold. Congratulations for being able to report these things dispassionately. You should be given hero's status here. I'm not able to hear this kind of nonsense without reacting to this substandardly rolled-out site with gall, displeasure, and utter amazement. 1 We didn't need dialogue. We had faces! Echo ".. hero's status for Leslie". <br><p> Fred: you are obviously not engaging the rapture of the new design. Palm has assured us a long time ago that this is state of the art software, if you are not comfortable with it, that must define you as an old user who doesn't 'get it'. There are different ways to format line and paragraphs depending on whether you are in forums or comments, and I think it may change between Tuesdays and Thursdays, but routine is so boring. Palm explained the concept as being sorta like a new car: it used to be when you wanted to turn left, you cranked the wheel counterclockwise, but now you sometimes crank the wheel, and sometimes use the wiper switch. It may depend on if you are on a gravel road or paved, I'm not sure. But you can find out, .. just try things. This is the new way. Get with it, and quit clinging to logic. By the way, the procedure may change soon, we have had it explained that the platform chosen by Palm & Co. is modern and easy to maintain, thus the rapid progress in solving the issue you mentioned.
