Zootman
Thanks to the generosity of Matthew Currie on this forum I have a newly acquired Yashica Minister D ( http://www.photo.net/classic-cameras-forum/00dzpp ). I replaced the light seals, re-glued the frome line in the view finder, and then loaded it with some Tmax 100 that expired in 1992. Took it to a local car cruise-in and thought I would post the results. My scanning skills still leave much to be desired.

greg_nixon2
Superb photos Nord. They showcase both your photograhic skills and the Minister's performance. You will be hard pushed to find a better range finder of that era.
Thanks for sharing
michael_linn
Classic cameras and classic cars just belong together, don't they?
You have done a fine job with the restoration, the photography, and the processing. Keep at it.
I have never said or heard a bad word about a Yashica lens, and I have owned and used more than a few.

rick_drawbridge
Excellent work, Nord. Those scans are also very good indeed. The Ministers (and there were lots of them) never seem to get much mention, but I like their solid build and chunky design. I have a rather rare Minister 700, the same model as yours but with the Yashinon 45/1.7 lens, but I don't think it performs any better than your f/2.8. Thanks for a fine post.

harveysteeves
that role of 1992 film seems to have held up pretty well.
Zootman
Harvey, it really has done well. A widow friend gave me about 25 rolls of Tmax 100 (along with some other film) that her husband had. It had all expired in 1992 and had been kept in a closet in their house. I have used 10 rolls of it so far and it has done well. I am using D-76 1+1 and standard times. I have been pleasantly surprised at the results.
tony_lockerbie
Classic cars, classic camera....you have us well sorted! Great images from your free Yashica. They all seem to perform well, and the Yashinons are well above the average quality wise. Keep enjoying your gift!

glen_h
By the way, the "B&W - Film & Processing" forum has "Monochrome Monday" for posting pictures.
You might put some there, too.
-- glen
