scott_stockwell1
I had to throw out my last fixer mix and only have 100ml left of undiluted fixer in the bottle and need to dilute it into 600ml, so I'm 50ml off.
Can I just get away with using 100ml in a 600ml dilution and leave it in for another minute or so? Or will this have a nasty effect on my film? I want to develop a 120 Ilford Delta 100 film.
Sorry if my question sounds stupid but Im new to all this and to inpatient to wait for the postman to bring me my new bottle of fixer :)
Thanks in advance
Scott
larrydressler
Just double your fixing time to be on the safe side and all should be fine. It is no worse than when Fixer starts to weaken on it's own.

JDMvW
Modest over-fixing doesn't do much harm anyway, although some bleaching can occur at really longer times, so Yeah - Larry+Stephen
Alan Marcus
Dilute to volume needed -- test with scrap film -- a snip of the tongue (leader) sticking out of the cassette will do fine. In the light, swish this test film in the fixer at working strength. Time this reaction, the film enters opaque and soon clears to transparent. Note the time it takes for the film to clear. Double this time and your film will be fixed to specification.
glen_h
The tanks I have do a 120 roll in 500ml.

The capacity will be reduced and times will get even longer.
If twice the time it takes to clear exceeds twice the recommended fixing time, I would stop using it.
-- glen
