In the strictest sense, nature photography should not include hand of man elements. Try to minimize man made features, keep the focus on nature, and let common sense be your guide. Let's make this a true Photo of the Week and only post 1 image per week.

Greetings,
While going to a field a for an early evening Snowy Owl watch I heard that beguilingly harsh sound, a true harbinger of Spring. I could scarcely believe it as I looked, almost franticly, through the snow all piled up on the roadside as I drove slowly. There it was, emerging from the winter white, a Red-winged Blackbird perched on the only thing around, a metal fencepost. That also happens to be the only green in the county. I'm so glad I keep the camera in the front seat. Sure, it's a common everyday bird, but I was very happy to see and hear it.

I hope you've all had a great week. Where's your camera been? Let's get this one week off to a good start here in Monday in Nature.

00cRMD-546085884.JPG.c89967b012922c5211492ec0d2e3363e.JPG

Unlike some places, we had a real treat of a day in the 60's...well, it felt like 60's. It was good to roam the hill near my house, check out the crocuses, buffer park and everything in-between. I liked these red buds better OOF (and can't even explain why).

Found this guy on my trail and we both got startled and went out of each other's way. On my way back I decided to see if it was still around. After a bit of careful looking around I found it coiled up, waiting for nightfall. This one was pretty peaceful, but they have a reputation of standing their ground and biting instead of fleeing. So I guess luck was on my side that day.
