michaelging
Beautiful camera, and one that I own as well. Nice sharp lens and has the feel of my Nikon F.
Rick Helmke
Wicked pretty is an understatement Gene. Thanks. Only problem is, now I'm back to wanting a manual rangefinder again.
Rick H.
JDMvW
Beautiful.

I've always wanted one of these. Maybe someday. In the meantime, I'll have to make do with my converted or unconverted Kievs. :)
Lou_Meluso
Holy Moly, what a sweet rig! Museum quality for sure. Serious rangefinder love going on there. Thanks for show'n 'er off. I just picked up the same lens, in much rougher condition, in LTM for one of my Canon's so it's good to see your results. Got me itching to go out and shoot with it. Thanks!

LenMarriott
Gene, Can I watch as you load that S2 with the 120 Tri-x? :-) OK, I know it's there simply to supply some context of the times. Very pretty indeed, though B&W example photos would be more appropriate to the era. Just envious! Best, LM.
steve_bellayr
FYI: The Nikkor 50mm f1.4 is a Sonnar designed lens. Question: For those that own one is there a case that you use?

david_l3
Gene, you need those old 35mm metal screw top film cans next to that beautiful camera. You really outdid yourself making us jealous.
Andy Collins
Wow. That camera is gorgeous, too gorgeous to be jealous of. I love the pictures too; that lens is outstanding in sharpness and color rendition. Ahhh, one day...

kris-bochenek
This is a truly beautiful camera, I was eyeing one on the auction site, but they go for too much , more then I am willing to spend at this moment.
chuck_foreman1
While I'm glad to hear you didn't "steal" this thing, I'm still envious. I was ready for a story where you just stumbled on on this as somebody sent you a found film and told you could keep the camera too!! So it makes me feel a little bit better that you actually had to put out something. I am beginning to hate these stories of how people end up with really great stuff for NOTHING!!! It never happens to me!
It is indeed lovely and the condition is immaculate. Actually in the end that you feel you got a bargain is the best thing any buyer can say. The Leicas probably bled the others out! Excellent lens ! Love that protrait of you! And the door panel and the cast iron bench frame.. all par excellent! I always go for the shutter sound and find the slow spees are the sexiest. Generally from 4 to 60 is the sweet area. The slower speeds can also be good if the shutter is in good condition. The clockwork can be mesmerizing . Please to hear the "think" is pleasing, My favorite phonetically described sound would be " schlisch"
gabor_szabo3
Cool S2, Gene, but the 5cm 1.4 Nikkor S.C is what makes it. Great lens - works wonders on my my Leica III's . Gives the Summilux a run for its money.
Do you favor this Nikon over your Contax ?
jason
A pristine perfect camera! The use of ever-ready case allows cameras to grow old with great dignity! Your images are great. The bench a favorite. It's so nice if it were mine, it's back in the case for dragging around! Enjoy. Much envied.
