Walter it is not the price of the film. It is the jow of playing with something new. If I wanted cheap only I would sell all I have and get an FX Nikon Digital. I too am not working brother I am one of the 10% but I decided to make the best not cheapest of it. I like the Ultrafine eXtreme 100 but I hate the 400. Supply and demand. The more who who it will lower the price.
And besides it is no fun whit Ultrafine knowing that in a year that film will be replaced by something else. I can't help the Euro-$ exchange rate that is just something we have to deal with. My bet is that will improve in a few months. Besides in North America we save the 19% VAT tax they pay in the E.U.
ORWO NA is a start up and pricing will change it is a one man operation at the moment. He is getting a helper this week and a price drop may soon follow.
Hang in there and just enjoy what you do Walter.

Thanks Paul. I Find it more like Plus-X or the Old APX before they screwed it up in the late 90s..... That said I have just started testing the UN54 so I should maybe hold my opinion before I compare it to 2 dead dear friends.
I am trying to keep them all labeled closely and when I am done I will get them all moved to a separate web site with larger images included also.

Walter Hi! You may try ordering directly from Filmotec, Wolfen. Just Google their website and they give you the contact and other details. The US agent may be adding his retailer's margin; that is quite high in the US, as we all know. I used to buy from an agent in Bombay. He also charged it up. Then when he delayed responding, I contacted Filmotec, directly. Regards, sp.

Canada (Montreal), USPS is $33. UPS was cheaper but they nail you with an additional $30 brokerage fee when they drop it off. FedEx is better at the brokerage fees but combined more than the USPS charge.

That said, 2 100' spools should still be better than that...

To date, B&H are the only ones that have reasonable shipping rates and Freestyle are the worse. That is, to me in the center of the universe!

Yes Peter just write them they will correct it. Oh and you may love that UN54+ I just made a major boo boo and I got useable negatives. I was planning on using 1-100 for an hour with Rodinal. I fell asleep 2 hours later I woke up oops. Bullet proof but still useable and the grain was fine.
