Nikon Wednesday Pic 2011: #20

At first I hesitated about posting this pretty uninteresting pic, but it`s actually what I`m doing right now... a set of images used to show a plastic part that seems slightly undereengineered to my liking. The thing is an uphaul line attachment in a nice boom head, used on surfing gear.

Nikon D700 @ 200ISO + 105VR, f11 - 1/4sec., daylight-type fluorescent source.

I've been away from the Wednesday pict but it's good to be back and see all those great weekly pictures. I've tried to clean those electrical wires without success so... here it is.
Getting clean in the old days (I did not try it).

00YkTZ-359745684.jpg.92b236aa048d26463f0dcfcebee6061c.jpg

Happy Wednesday!!!

Panayotis, thanks for you mention last week! Your niece looks a bit like Janis Joplin... probably prettier...

Great work overall... I love that shot, Matt. Rene', that is, what 714mm, at f9? Wow....it's sharp... Jennifer, absolutely love her expression!... Jeannean and Greg, great catch, Greg the square format works very well here.

As for me? Rain, rain, rain..... while I have just about enough of it, the plants seems to like it. Both daffodils and tulips are full bloom (and something must have eaten most squirrels so the bulbs actually stayed in the soil this year).

00YkTx-359759684.jpg.54be1a4fec19344d597f474a6fb8e676.jpg

in a giant burst of commotion i suddenly found myself beset by a rampaging turkey hen during an afternoon walk. apparently i'd strayed too close to her and her foraging brood in the pathside brush. don't kid yourself: it's not easy to compose oneself -- not to mention a photograph -- under such circumstances. nevertheless, i did manage to squeeze off a few keepers in spite of the chaos. this is nature, up close -- real close....

00YkTy-359761684.jpg.78ad7a0e0f5b92fe165c59a3370eeb32.jpg

Don't know how old David Bowie is, but this is how he probably looked about 100 years ago. OK, it's a thin link to the theme, and this isn't really Bowie but a "looky-likey" from a tribute band. They sounded good too!

Tech data: D700 + Sigma Apo 70-300; 300mm setting; 1/800th @ f/8; 400 ISO.

00YkUo-359781684.JPG.122c8795a1173f34e4af1177a0a529be.JPG

Good morning Nikon lovers. First I want to thank everyone who last week, commented on losing my best buddy "Ricky" my black lab. The shots this week are just wonderful. I went to another meet and greet that our county dog shelter had on Saturday and had a close encounter with this lovely face.
John Rowsell congrats. on that cute little puppy. What a cutie.

00YkUp-359781784.jpg.b5c90dd74d5ffc4d80b7ab985f54eab3.jpg

Good Morning Wednesday :)

Last weekend visited Hershey's Park in Pennsylvania. Got a chance to visit State Capitol in Harrisburg which is not far from Hershey. This is indoor shot near the wellness center and it's 3 shot HDR to avoid blown out highlights on the ceiling. I liked the reflection and also leading curve lines.

Shot with Nikon D90 and Tamron 17-50mm using Aperture mode @ 17mm f/4 1/8 ISO 400 HDR
