lisae
Caillum Smith: what a peaceful scene. I think it would be very nice to spend some time on that dock watching the sky.
Bill Boyd: I love the color of your junkyard picture. Makes me want to go out and buy a D7000!

We have had the privilege of watching some robin chicks in our neighbor's yard. The parents built the nest on the fence. It was knocked over, and the chicks ended up in our neighbor's flower beds. We think only 2 chicks survived the fall but they are growing quickly. My daughter and I have gone to visit them several times in the past week and have enjoyed the interaction between parents and chicks.

adam_weaver
The University of Pennsylvania graduation this week featured Denzel Washington as the commencement speaker. Graduates paraded down Locust Walk, with faculty in regalia lining the entire walk, past the University President and Mr. Washington. It turned out to be hard shooting, featuring the backs of faculty or overhead wide shots down on the tops of broad hats. This spectator recorded the scene on her Ipad. If I shoot this next year I'll have some different angles.

purplealien
Great photos everyone. The ones that particularly caught my eye this week are:
Caillum's lake
Darren's blossom
Greg's pidgeon
Miha's chicken
Aguinaldo's landscape
Larry's fountain
Lisa's chick
Adam's ipad

I don't normally try wildlife pictures, but there's a family of foxes in residence at work and the cubs are allowed out to play from time to time. I ended up between this cub and his mum who was hiding behind me. When he looked up I got a couple of frames at the long end of my 18-105 zoom.

lisae
Thank you to Chris Wick for mentioning my photo. I think your picture of the fox cub among the daisies is charming.

Anthony R., I like the processing of your photo very much. It challenges me to look beyond the obvious lines and symmetry, and see the light.
vince-p
Last Friday I had dinner with students in SoHo (NYC, not London) then walked around taking pictures with my long neglected F100. What a camera. I used the manual focus 20mm f/3.5, the AF 50mm f/1.4D, and most of all the AF 75-240mm f/4.5-5.6D which I just picked up to replace my broken 70-210. Can't tell yet how much I'll like it. (I also bought a 70-300mm VC which has stunning image quality but it's like a coffee can full of marbles attached to the camera....) Anyway have a bunch of shots to supply me the next few Wednesdays. Here's the first:
