Dave Lee, that's a great landscape! I remember, back in the early 80's, picking up a National Geographic with an article on Mt St Helens just after the major eruption. At the time I was a young lad living in New Zealand. I have not seen a picture of the St Helens area since, until now...Great work!
I also Like Gary's Snowdonia

and Lil's beach.... Beautiful!

Just bought a Sigma APO 50-150mm F2.8 II EX DC HSM. Shot a show of my brother-in-law last Saturday at Genghis Cohen in Los Angeles. Light was very low so I had to push to 1600 on my D70s, first time I used 1600 since buying the camera 3 years ago and found it to be more acceptable than I thought. I adjusted the exposure, gamma and sharpened with Apple's Preview and prepped the upload with Canvas X Mac.

00UK0M-167955784.jpg.560a42516c6d1e8b1864fe0ffb17c6bb.jpg

Good afternoon to everyone - I really enjoy the variety and quality of images - they are all good: to mention just a few: Per-Christian - lion needs a hair dresser; Alexandro - love the carp - they are singing for food; Cees - lovely clouds; Hamish - I should be drinking from that glass; Uzay - very cute; Richard A - beautiful form; Paul - love that wavy pattern and the color; Gary - good stuff; As I said they are all good.
Mine is from a few weeks ago - a late afternoon in the Caribbean island of St.Kitts on a beach located at the South East Peninsular called South Friar's Bay. Almost deserted in July and for selfish reasons I prefer it that way. Taken with my favorite combo these days D300 and Sigma 10-20mm about 15 minutes before the sun sets giving the sand a golden glow.

Hi everyone. Gorgeous work again this week...as usual! I never in my life thought I'd look so forward to Wednesdays.
This week I set my daughter up in the garage to paint on a big blank canvas to decorate her room. She had a blast going between all the bright colors and the canvas, I had fun documenting it, and we got beautiful original art out of the deal!

Amy...I love the comp...very clever!

Here is my contribution from last Wednesdays show...JJ Grey and Mofro. If you haven't heard these guys, check 'em out at http://www.myspace.com/mofroband. JJ has one of the most soulful voices in rock n roll today. My kids just adore him and I managed to take a break from dancing to catch them in the act.

00UK4X-167979684.jpg.3eb7ffaf676adea25d1455ffed1dc51e.jpg

Good Evening,
Another great selection this week :
Aaron - beautiful contrast - the tone of the image drew me in.
Matthew - great stark image - really made me look at the detail.
Chris - lovely composition, the light seems to eminate from the logo.
Louis - great find - reminds me why I always carry a camera.
My offering is of a boat called the Nomadic. She was used to carry passengers to the Olympic class of White Star liners in Cherbourg, including the Titanic. The boat has be bought by Belfast council and is about to be restored after years as a floating restaurant in Paris. Enjoy.

Marc

There are some today that definitely talk to me, so if you'll indulge me:

Jose: that sepia, and your focus decisions, suit that corn really well. Lovely.
Ilkka: the brass section is nice - but I'm trying to understand the perspective (on the first sax player's head) - was it cropped?
Chris Court: I'm a sucker for rusty heavy equipment that DoF and saturation really work for the shot.
Ton: Such delicate textures and tones, and backlight kept perfectly under control.
Matthew B: Lunatastic.
Alejandro: The light on the carp and water is really unique. I like it.
Jeannean: Long sleeves, knee pads, insect repellent, and macro lenses all go together. Great water drop.
Mike O'Day: Your miniturizing post technique is once again tweeking with my sense of scale. Nice matchbox racer!
Lester: The gangs of skater punks in my neighborhood aren't nearly that attractive - good catch.
Richard: Great Blues just never get uninteresting. But I still can't shake the image of canoeing with that body and lens. Yikes! But it was worth it for that detail.
Joris: My first thought (before I saw that you were at a theater festival) was, "How theatrical!"
Louis M: That silverware shot is just terrific.
Kevin C: That good ol' D200 rendered very nice skin tones on that charming shot of your son.
Tony H: Ain't that 10mm end of the Sigma 10-20 fun?
Pedro C: I like the environmental composition in your shot with the Wall O' Cheese and your brother.

Keep up the good work, everybody. These threads really do lighten up the middle of the week.

So many gorgeous shots, if I had to pick, Aaron Bonnici's Sisters stood out for me among many very strong images. My photograph was taken a few days ago in Santa Barbara county with a Nikon D80, AF-S Nikkor 18-55mm lens (125 - f18).

00UKBY-168027584.jpg.200726f13ebb1502468a21380f00d295.jpg
