John, just take this image in my portfolio as an example: http://www.photo.net/photo/9202878

You do not want to link that URL to this page. Instead, the URL for the JPEG image inside is: http://d6d2h4gfvy8t8.cloudfront.net/9202878-md.jpg That JPG file is what you want to link to. Keep in mind that both the page URL and the JPEG image URL use the same ID 9202878.

The "image source" HTML you want to use is:
<IMG SRC="http://d6d2h4gfvy8t8.cloudfront.net/9202878-md.jpg">

Tim, I can't see nearly as well with my own eyes as I can with the macro lens, and then after loading them into my computer, I see a lot more than I could ever see with my eyes. That's what got me excited about macro photography. Sort of reminds me of the first time I looked through a microscope...a whole new experience. It's a lot harder than I thought (at least to get good clear shots), but even with the bad ones, you get to see things you'd never see. Your picture is wonderful! It inspired me to take a pic of the ones nearby. I was waiting for the bugs to show up late yesterday, and thought about your photo, so took one. That's what's so cool about this thread. The inspiration, willingness to help each other, and seeing such diversity makes this thread what it is. :)

Alex: Nicely done.
Yuriy: Very nice. I like the lighting, especially the tiny bit around her shoes.
Martijn: Nice shot of Josef.
Lex: Might be just a "test shot", but it's good and thanks for adding John's shot.
Mircea: Nice sunset shot. The extra long fishing pole really adds to it.
and finally John W: Beautiful shot of the mountains! I'm so glad Lex added it to the thread. :)

Thanks to all of you for sharing your photos and comments!

Thank you very much for the comments on my shot! Between all the fabulous work here to be mention is really a motivation to keep using my camera (and to buy a new one) :)

Matt.... I'm sorry but some how I don't believe that was all you wanted! I think animals have a 6th sense and the way that guys is looking at you makes me wonder..... :)

Eric.... Thank you for your comment! Coming from you it means a lot to me! For a moment I wondered about those blurred people but then I realized it was kinda good! (I think that is what you meant by "the motion blue on the people")

Hamish.... How many hours of sunlight are you having now? last week I was in Europe and there was daylight until very late in the evening. Now back in Japan it is dark around 6 pm. I hate it! nice shot by the way!

GREAT WORK EVERYBODY!!!!!! So? Do we meet here again next WeDNeSDaY?

Wow! This thread really has gotten long since I last looked!!!
Thank you to those who commented on my photo this week. In case anyone was wondering what was in the glass, it was Løitens Summer Aquavit :-)
René, where I live the sun sets at about 9pm now and it's dark around 10. My photo was taken towards the end of July much further north. Only 1500km (940 miles) south of the North Pole in fact. There they have 2 and a half months of constant sunshine (as long as it's not raining :-) In the winter it's the opposite of course. 2 months of darkness!
To everyone. Thank you for sharing your photos and making this the best thread of the week.

Lil Judd and the others who commented on my picture of the Historic Artillery shoot, Thank You. Just a note, however, this is not an reenactment, this is a live fire competition with a lot of big holes in the targets down range. We have broken a lot of clay pigeons and tiles during our 25 years of skirmish competitions!

Mike, Tiffany, Kris, Matt, Sergio, Benjamin, Joseph, Justin, Jeannean, Tim, Lil... Thank you very much for your mention. I`m pleased you like my pic. This is fuel for my next work.

As usual I like a lot of pics but I`d like to comment just a few of the ones I spent more time looking at...

Ian Rance, I like very much your pic. I love this two planes in your photo; one with your Dad, the house and trees at the background, and another with your protagonist, the cat. I like the inclined position of your father and how he holds the cat, his face (just a bit of face, more would be distracting), the control of DoF is perfect to my liking. Sadly, the white areas on the cat appear blown out in my screen; anyway I like it a lot. I see way more than a pet photo on your pic.
Aaron Bonnici, wonderful photo. It takes me to the italian cinematography on the 40s... :) Beautiful.
Josh Loeser, a beautiful photo plenty of humanity.

Thank you all for your participation. I`m now thinking on my next WeD PiC... (Mmmm... I heard something about kitchens... ? :D

John Williamson, I also find that linking from within Photonet is tricky. However, after entering the HTML and sitting submit, you are taken to a second page on which you can confirm the submittal. If on that second page, you hit update first, and then confirm, it usually works more consistently.

Jose Angel: I like how you framed the corn cobs and the lightening. Nice pic!
Ilkka Nissila: This one really cracked me up. The picture conveys an atmosphere very nicely. I really like the expressions of the two guys in the front and how one of them leans a little forward, while the other one points his trumpet upwards. Nicely composed and works well in B/W. Great!
Chris Court: A fav of mine from this weeks pics. Beautiful colours and I enjoy looking at how you worked with DOF and composed the dark silhouettes in the out of focus areas into the frame. Great!
Matthew Brennan: It's fascinating to look at.
Alejandro Held: I like the composition and subtle colours. Good light.
Jeannean Ryman: A very well done macro shot. Good composition, colours and DOF. The sunstars are excellent!
William T: Well composed of the girl who looks quite curious about something. Wonder what?
Lil Judd: Nicely composed. I would like to try IR myself some time.
Lester Rosebrock: Good catch!
Jens Frederiksen: Nice colours and light!
Janne Kaakinen: Great action and composition.
Kemal Riza: I like how you play with the contrasts, shadows and the sun reflections. Nice composition and very well exposed. Great!
Aaron Bonnici: This is my absolute favourite this week. Beautifully composed and lighted. Works great in B/W. What rally makes it is the warm interaction between the girls. Great!
Miles Riggin: Nicely composed and good work with the DOF.
Sanford Gerard: I like how you caught the auctioner in a action. Good composition.
Red P. Helps: Good craft.
Leo Laksi: That is a great documentary shot. Nice colours.
Michael Ferron: An interesting and different image. Simple, but still things to discover. Cool!
Dave Lee: Nice landscape. Like how you worked with the foreground.
Chanh Nguyen: Also nice landscape. The boy in red is a nice addition.
paul sooHoo: Nicely composed.
Don Harper: Like subject, colours and composition. Nice post processing effects.
Louis Meluso: Cool pic. Amazing that you took it in available light at a cafe. Looks like studio work.
Gary McGhee: Really like this one. Great composition and perfect exposure time. The colours are beautiful.
Erik Arnold: Nice street shop.
Shuo Zhao: Simple but effective.
Susan Wolfe: Late but great!

Thank you for the comments - I appreciate your input.

Lulu really has come around from being a shy and running cat to being wise and full of fun and love for all the family - she has a great purr too.

Yes, I was afraid it may look a bit blown out, but my lab's scans always seem to do that on bright areas, however the negs are full of detail so a custom scan would be better I think.

I've been out of touch for the weekend and just now had some time to review this last week's thread. Beginning with Jose's corn cobs I can find something excellent in every image which makes me very thankful for Lil's time and energy as well as Jeannean's!
Thank you, Tony, Matt, Joseph, Jeannean, Tim and Lil for the kind words about my heron image. The weather at the lake this last weekend was terrible. The photo opportunities were minimal but I do have something in mind for Wednesday. It is amazing how this thread has become part of each week's planning and how you start to think of what to post as soon as you put up last weeks shot.
Thanks again to Jose, Shun and Lex! This is a great venue to learn and get to know some wonderful people!
See you Wednesday,
Dick

Sjoerd, please do not post more than 1 out of those 1000 pictures on our next thread. These threads are getting long enough. Otherwise, we'll have to block you from posting .... :-)

It is Monday already. I am going to close this "old" thread shortly.
