toptony
I went to Antelope Valley California Poppy Reserve this past weekend, and was stunted by the view....So I decided to make this panoramic shot....hope that you can see what I've seen...D80
Side note: then I somehow got a pollen/dirt in my sensor...trying to get it clean today!

epp_b
Matthew and Gary , your photos really appeal to me, but, then, I'm a sucker for landscapes ;)
Chris , that capture is simply epic!
Fab , nice T/S editing there, it really looks like a model (it is supposed to look like T/S, right?)

Here's a new favourite of mine...

D40, 18-55 kit @ 18mm, 1/40, f/8, ISO 200, matrix metered, aperture priority

Keith Gierman
Wow, what terrific shots so far everyone. I can't wait each week to see what is posted Wednesdays!

Here is my contribution for this week. We are on our annual trip to Sanibel Island, FL. The photo was taken in Ding Darling National Wildlife Refuge this morning. D80, ISO 640, Nikkor 70 - 300 VR @ 300mm, VR on. I am new to this lens but so far, I am underwhelmed with the VR performance. The only images without motion blur are the ones that would been sharp anyway because of the shutter speed. This image was 1/500 @f7.1.

Keith

gabesouza
Everyone - great shots as always. Particularly like Bruce's neon, Hammish's HDR, and Matthew's New Zealand. Gorgeous.

Mine this week is an existing light portrait of my 1-year old nephew taken about a month ago as I am traveling and don't have anything wicked current to post.

Take care all and have a good week.

Gabe.

rascal64
Jose....quite a thread you have started here. It just gets better each week. I love the images of life and death...celebration. Every year, we visit a pond nearby to see the new goslings. They were late this year due to the snow and freezing temps. We are delighted that late Easter, they arrived!

brians.
It must be Spring, I see some photos of young birds already posted, so here's mine.

For the last four years the same Mallard couple has claimed our apartment's swimming pool to raise their brude. I decided to risk the ire of mama duck to get in close to one of her little ones. She quacked a lot, and I still had to crop in quite a bit.

D90, 16-85mm @85mm, 1/500, f/5.6, ISO 200, hand-held

sjoerd_leeuwenberg
Hi,

Many new contributors this week, so I decided to join for the first time too.
Have been looking at the thread for some weeks now and really enjoy the pictures and stories.

I especially like some of the landscape pictures and wonder how they are made.

This weeks I like the following the most:

Jose Angel: untypical view, nice
ian Rance: Nice dark view with the fog there
Rene'Villela: nice colors and lights
Bruce Margolis: Love your moving shots from the last weeks, gives inspiration
gary McGhee: Like your shots (would like a filter like that)
Chris Court: Amazing
Hideyuki Miya: Too bad about the crash, nice picture though

I also like modern architecture a lot, but don't see many pictures of it in the thread.
Maybe I will add some of mine in the following weeks.
I have a lot of them, but most are taken with a Canon G7.

Now here is my shot: We had a nice party for my uncle last sunday.
It was near the water and I liked the view on this wooden pier.
Taken with D90 & AFS-50mm F1.4 @ F16 and a bit of tweaking in Lightroom.
