  1. Many many years ago, when I fall in love with photography, the 50/1,8 was my only lens (is the equivalent of your 35mm lens , but in fullframe). An inexpensive set of macro extension rings open infinite possibilities and captivating exploring directions , making my sole lens more versatile. I remember with pleasure those hours I spend trying to capture on film small flowers and insects...
  2. Yes..it appear that all batteries are "further processed in China". Only the lithium cells are manufactured in Japan...
  3. I will ask my friend if his battery is further processed in China...if that matters...
  4. Good thinking ! ...So I have to inform you that : -Body Z6ii , is made in Thailanda -Strap for Z6ii ,is made in Bangladesh -Battery, is made in Japan -Charger for Z6ii , is made in China Funny ?
  5. Nikon Z6ii , ISO 2500, nr OFF, crop 100%
  6. We know (thanks)...135 was/is my favorite focal lengh since I was a child... About focus capability of Z6ii , it appear to be excellent, very fast and with amazing face/eye tracking...somehow better than Sony a7iii...
  7. With NR OFF,both cameras, zooming on pictures ,seems to have same amount of noise at iso 20000 (jpg from camera-first Sony-crop)
  8. Three days ago a friend of mine received his desired Z7ii. Today we take some shots comparing my Sony a7iii with the new Nikon, but have no time to make a serious test with equivalent lenses (Sony with 16-35 F2,8 - Nikon with 35mm 1,8). Conclusion : this two cameras behave almost the same .The last two pictures are taken at ISO 20000 1/400 F5 (Sony first) Shun Cheung: Paul has a typo. He meant the Z6 II instead of Z7 II, which is not yet released.
  9. I tought it was an ISIS fighter .... :-)
  10. The repair requires tools, epoxy adhesive, finesse, patience and a good magnifying glass... or eagle eyes :)
  11. I still have the D3, the 800 and D4s (and sold D700, D810 , D4 and D750). All three with low shutter counts probably because I own almost all FF body Nikon produce and many other brands. For portraits I will choose the D3(D700) paired with 70-200/2,8. In my opinion the 12Mp sensor deliver the most beautiful and natural colors in every situation, even with flash or studio light. It's hard to explain...every sensor have it's own personality. Forget the sensors produced after D800 except maybe D4s. They are not suited for portraits.
  12. The next Z generation will solve this problem, like Sony's a9 blackout-Free Quad-VGA 3.7m-Dot OLED EVF does.
  13. A view from my living room window : (shoot 10 minutes ago)
  14. A few years ago my son convinced me to buy a 55" 4K Tv (it was a Sony top of the line model). We all remain breathless when we first see our last taken pictures. So many details ...wow ! All because until then we only saw 2 or 3,6 Mp (2560x1440) from our 36Mp pictures (on the small screen(27")or FullHD tv's, and suddenly 8MP on a big screen ! Now we have another 4K 65"HDR OLED TV , and I can tell you the experience is amazing (pictures or film). Fortunately in my country we have blazing fast fiber optic internet (unlimited trafic for only 5 $/month) and 5G technology so I can say : smile, the future is here and 8K worldwide seem realistic to me ! BTW..., nowadays, almost all my clients want 4k footage for their weddings, but 10 years from now 8k(32Mp) OLED will be king.
  15. I was upset because I did the firmware upgrade of my D4s just before a wedding assignement, hoping to improve camera performance. Instead I get half of my pictures taken with Sigma 35/1,4, out of focus. With my other Nikon cameras the lens still work flawlessly.
  16. At this point I'm afraid to run any update on my D4s (and D800/750) . The last one , from may 2018 (or 2017 ?) just make my Sigma 35/1,4 to focus erratically. It seems Nikon lately make lots of PR errors regarding their marketing and business. They're(Nikon) not doing well at all. Last Friday I receive A phone call from our local/country NPS manager . They offer a D5 body at aprox 3200$ + buyback D3,D4 or D4s, only to NPS members. Having the D4s I decline the offer ...
  17. ...or a better strap : ROTABALL - PRO - SUN-SNIPER Englisch ...though, the older model is better : https://www.amazon.de/Sun-Sniper-Strap-The-ONE-Kameragurt-schwarz/dp/B002KD9BMS?ie=UTF8&tag=googdemozdesk-21&hvadid=337937298152&hvpos=2t2&hvnetw=g&hvrand=1632318030073030341&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=b&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=1011829&hvtargid=dsa-19959388920&ref=pd_sl_9bldhgejnz_e&language=en_GB
  18. Nikon D3 + Lens Baby Composer :
  19. I have and use both, as a wedding photographer . All my life I was in a quest for the "right setup" , the right tool for the job ...,and mirrorless give me a very important feature : "what you see is what you get". Since I don't like to change lenses often , I use the following pairing : Nikon D4s + 70-200/2,8 - at church and restaurant Fuji XT3 + 50-140/2,8 (70-200 equiv. in FF) - outside and "trash the dress" Sony a7iii + 16-35/2,8 - outside, church and restaurant (without flash) Nikon D750, D800 + 24-70/2,8 - only restaurant, with CLS flashes (4) My favorites : Fuji XT3 and Nikon D4s For my personal pictures I use Fuji with diffrent lenses (16/1,4 - 23/1,4 - 50/2). Why ? Outstanding quality (both camera and lenses), lightness, and amazing colors science.
  20. "Every sample I handled had a rough-feeling, sloppy or stiff zoom action" This may be true..., but I bought mine in 2008 and since then I use this same lens (as a wedding photographer) with D3, D700, D800, D810, D4, D4S and D750 making more than one million pictures with it. Sharp now like it was in the first day. A lens worth buying... Serial number :302414
  21. Yes they will. I was in Japan a month ago visiting the Nikon Ohi Factory . Great news : Nikon will soon release another Z camera with a completely new sensor technology and 60 Mp. This 60 megapixel sensor can, for better low light image quality, combine 4 pixels (or more) into 1 big pixel and end up with 15 MP files and could be switched to 30, 18 or 12 megapixel according to your needs.Last but not least, the pixels will also be able to flip by 180° into black & white mode. Of course, the purpose is to enhanced light sensitivity and color fidelity obtaining perfect pictures at ISO 500000. The new line of transformers-type lenses are ready to hit the market . Using the secret material called "unobtanium" a relativ cheap lens will be able to change from a pro 600mm tele into 12mm/F2 lens at the push of a button. Writen today, first of april ad 2019
  22. They plan to launch (this summer-I think) a new 12mp monster (a7s type) with global shutter sensor + 4k/60p (...a global shutter exposes all lines of an image at the same time, 'freezing' the moving object in place. This prevents distortions , which makes global shutter technology the ideal choice for applications with moving objects and rapid movement sequences, will give us outstanding noise characteristics, even in poor lighting conditions crystal-clear images, even for very short exposures and also a broad dynamic range) That camera will be the nowadays equivalent of what it was the D3 10 years ago (a revolution).
  23. ...apparently in US you have the lowest photo equipment prices in the world (good for you), due to the low taxation (I presume). But here Sony react by lowering prices, A7III(24Mp) being $2550 ($3000 with 28-70 lens), Canon R body having exactly same price as Nikon Z6 : $3000 (same price, same look, same top LCD-WTF!?:D). Only Fuji struggle to align prices with US (T3 body =$1600 and with 18-55/2,8-4=$2030...and lenses at almost same US prices )...
