pmj
Brian, I just read on Philip's blog that you managed to get the SunE450 to boot again. Super! I hope the remaining repairs go well.

h._p.
I always say that there's nothing wrong with an E450 that can't be fixed by replacing it with a HP 9000, say a nice little rp8420. (ducks and runs for cover)
mottershead
Yup, its back online. We are going to reclaim various files. It makes a nice solid shelf for the Dell PE 6650 that sits on top of it in the rack, though. So we can't completely get rid of it yet.
wilsontsoi
On one of my recent photos, (posted 9-Oct-05 @1:06 EST) I noticed that a comment posted on 9-Oct-05 around 20:00 EST disappeared on the next day. Is the disappearing comment a result of recent system failure, or was it selectively censored? Any clue to this mystery would be great.
mottershead
I don't think we lost any comments or anything else in the database. We didn't lose any photos. We did lose a few things. At this point, we are missing a small number of files attached to comments, and if any subscribers had personal web spaces and uploaded files between Oct 4 and Oct 7, then those are currently missing. Both the file attachments and the web files should be recoverable, however. We also lost some web logs, which means that some photo views between Oct 7 and Oct 10 won't be counted. Other views have not been list, but haven't been counted yet.
yongbo
A "Donation Only" button on the home page might speed up to get a better server, and then you can enjoy the beautiful sunset.
wilsontsoi
Thanks for your prompt reply as well as all the improvements and troubleshootings you've tackled. Much appreciated! Hopefully after riding out this storm, things will be back to normal in PN-ville.
harnstrom1
I deleted a photo but it's still remaining on the list for critique. Only the title (and statistics it seems) not the picture. It was 10 october. Is this a hardware problem? It's also impossible for me to delete an empty folder (without pictures) Kind regards Jan Olof
