The general guidelines for these Thursday threads are <a rel="nofollow" href="../canon-eos-digital-camera-forum/00X9hq"><strong>right here</strong></a>. Remember: only one image each week!</p> </blockquote> <p>Happy Thursday to everyone! Lots of good photos last week and lots of prayers for Japan. I know it happened over a week ago now, but they'll need everyone's prayers for quite a while. We had quite a few photos last week, but we're still trailing Nikon. That's okay though, I think it's great that they have 100+ posts, but we've been there before and I know we can do it again. Post your photo and tell anyone you know with a Canon to post as well. </p> <p>Here's my contribution for the week. I've been trying to shoot Wood Ducks for the past few weeks now that they've arrived here for the summer. I got a few wood duck shots, but not one yet that I'm really excited about. I did take this photo of a female mallard while hunting wood ducks the other day. The female mallard is generally a bland subject to photograph, but I thought the color on the wings with the composition and the head turn worked well on this one. Not a Nat Geo photo, but I was happy with the result. I'm taking photos of the University of Louisville rowing team practicing on the Ohio River at dawn on Monday, so everyone can look for that photo next week. I'm pretty excited about it; cross your fingers for fog!</p><div></div>
scott_ferris
<p>This weeks pic was fun. I was the working in the garage and my girlfriend noticed a frog on the outside of the window, the glass was too dirty to get anything useable so next day I cleaned the window inside and out, of course he didn't come back the second night! But the following night he did, so I got this. Hand held with the 100mm IS macro, manual focus and sway back and forth until he was sharp. Exposure was M mode at 1/160 and f18, manual flash handheld to my left at 1/8. It was an old 550EX with cheap eBay RF-602 triggers.</p><div></div>
spencer_chrouser
<p>I was bored sitting in my room so I decided I'd wander around my backyard and try and find something to take a picture of. Now the normal procedure would be to pull them out, but I decided to take its picture instead! I'm pretty happy with the results. It may be a weed, but I like it nonetheless. Since I can't get very close with my lens I had to crop a bit to get it as large as it is.</p> <table cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" width="100%"> <tbody> <tr > <th>Camera</th> <td><a href="http://www.flickr.com/cameras/canon/eos_7d/">Canon EOS 7D</a></td> </tr> <tr > <th>Exposure</th> <td>0.008 sec (1/125)</td> </tr> <tr > <th>Aperture</th> <td>f/5.6</td> </tr> <tr > <th>Focal Length</th> <td>85 mm</td> </tr> <tr> <th>ISO Speed</th> <td>100</td> </tr> <tr> <th>Exposure Bias</th> <td>0 EV</td> </tr> </tbody> </table> <table cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" width="100%"> <tbody> <tr> <th> Lens Model</th> <td>EF-S15-85mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM</td> </tr> </tbody> </table> <div></div>

doug_landrum
<p>Hi All, This is my first submission. A couple of weeks ago, I was exploring the hinterlands of the now closed El Toro Marine Air Station and came across this fearless Hawk. In keeping with the critter theme, here is an offering:</p> <p><a title="_MG_0799 by breaker.leftbeach, on Flickr" href=" <a title="_MG_0799 by breaker.leftbeach, on Flickr" href=" src="http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5176/5485024424_cfc4ee6883.jpg" alt="_MG_0799" width="400" height="500" /></a></p> <p>EOS 7D EF 70-200 f/2.8L IS</p>
woodbyte
<p>Missed last week. Was tired and went to bed early.<br> This weekend we walked through the park in Fond du Lac, which sits at the Southern most point of Lake Winnebago in Wisconsin, USA. Temp has warmed to 40+F and it was a lovely day. Most of the snow had melted, but there's still plenty of ice left on the lake. I was somewhat shocked to observe this gentleman riding his bicycle out to the middle. I believe he was going to check some fishing lines he'd left dangling in a hole. I'm sure he knew what he was doing, but I certainly wouldn't risk it.<br> rgds,<br> james</p><div></div>

kazwiltshire
<p>Spring is here at last in the UK, some lovely almost T'shirt weather. Here's some Daff's from the garden. I had seen an image which shot the flowers from below which was fab but i still cant work out how you focus if the camera is on the ground, i tried with my macro lens and then switched to my 10-22m with a bit more sucsess although I'm still not that happy with it. I'm sure you pro's out there can help me out.?</p>

indy_nandrajog
<p>Hi Canonians, wish you all another fun filled week of shooting!</p> <p>And what a week this pas week has been. We started with a 70 degrees day here in New Jersey, and my wife and I were picking out plants to grow this summer. Then we had the official start of spring. And finally, we got this yesterday.</p> <p><img src="http://indy.smugmug.com/2011/Misc/Another-Spring-Day-Not/1226950297_5WeAQ-X3.jpg" alt="" /><br> <strong>Another Spring Day. Not!</strong></p> <p>Well no complaints, I enjoy it all as it comes.</p> <p>Now, back to the Cricket World Cup where India and Australia have a quarter final game going.</p>
randy_cooprider1
<p>This picture was taken with the Kodak coversion of the EOS-1 film camera, a DCS-520. It has only a 6MB file size but it was great fun to hear the ca chunk-chunk of the shutter. It is very hefty and probably has some aerobic muscle development potential. Lens was a Canon 28-80.</p><div></div>

scott_ferris
Thanks, Lupo. Another fine food image from you this week too, but just out of interest, do you always eat your nachos with a pair of pliers? :-) Take care, Scott.
