steve_lyon1
From the "Pumpkin Festival" near Three Points, Arizona. Fall is definitely here in the desert SouthWest -- temperatures were just 80°F! Full afternoon sun made it hard to hold detail in the sky/clouds which were almost blown out. Some highlight recovery there in Lightroom.

ldgalaxy
Last Saturday I ventured out to the Great Salt Lake to take some landscape shots. The clouds provided some beautiful shadows on the terrain and there was some quality light still at mid-morning.
After my first stop I travelled down I-80 a couple of miles to a view area to get a different angle of the lake and Antelope Island in the background. As I was preparing to take some more photos I noticed that the Union Pacific was coming from the northwest right into my frame. I took a number of pictures as it passed by and was very pleased with some of the results. I picked my favorite one to post today. The train made for a much more interesting shot of the Great Salt Lake and Antelope Island.
Gary - Nice twinkle picture. Very well framed.
Sjoerd - Your roller coaster photo caught my eye and I was drawn right down the track.
Matt - Very nicely composed photo with puppy and breeder. You really captured a moment.
Dieter - Wow! Nice action
Ertugrul - Beautiful picture. I love photos that share ones culture.
There were many other nice photos. I just set a limit to comment on five of them.

Rene11664880918
Alex Foto... OK! You made me go to take a look back on last weeks thread! I didn't know what you were talking about! C'mon! There is no reason to apologize. I never thought anything wrong about your comment, instead I was glad that you mentioned my shot! Thank you for your kind words!

Matt... That's just beautiful!
chauncey_huffman
Great pics everyone! Here is a favorite of mine that I just shot a few days ago. I was shooting snapshots of my son when I decided to throw the camera behind my back and snap off a pic to see what I got. I love the resulting image of my wife. I'm suprised that my 17-55 lens was able to focus this close, I love this lens!

rascal64
Wonderful contributions everyone. I don't see a change in the format or maybe I missed a thread/resolution. So, I'll just do it as I've done it...

Alejandro...Great Zen use of the shadows/reflections that may deter other photogs...really beautiful!

Marc...original and observant. homer_arment1
Alejandro - I really like your shot of the Pontiac hood ornament.
Lil - your images always inspire me . I really like the sharpness of the bee contrasted against the dream-like softness of its surroundings.
Jeannann - Beautiful close-up. Those spines are tack sharp!
Hamish - I think the brown tint on your image makes it seem even colder. Good shot.
Aguinaldo - I really like your lone tree amid all the sunflowers.
Paul Gorky - Like your bee but that is closer than i would care to get to one.
Doug Santo - Nice shot of the Hummer.
Tony Hadley - Very nice landscape.
Chauncey - Very nice portrait of your wife. I like how she looks so relaxed.
My image comes from the Island of Maui and is of the north wall of the Haleakala crater.

graham_thompson1
Such great work as always on this thread. My humble offering stems from going into an antique shop. I opened the door. The bell rang. The owner did not look up. Had a look round and opened the door to go out. Again the bell rang. Thought a nice image. Asked if I could photograph him. He said yes without looking up. Not sure what the book he was engrossed in was.

Wouter Willemse
Wow, the level is just incredibly high today. Too much great shots to go into detail (for now at least), but a big thanks to all who posted so far!
Mine is more or less an attempt to try some new things. I'm not sure myself yet if I like it, but it's all I've shot this week, so here goes nothing.

D300, AF-D 35 f/2; 1/500th, f/4.5, ISO400. Great job!

My photo for today is from last Saturday when I and friends from photo club went to Samobor city in Croatia on a trip. phil_burt
There is an old grain mill just a short distance from where I live and next to it stands this tree. Many little children love to swing on it. Long ago a train would come out and pick up it's goods. The train and tracks have been gone for more than 30 years. The mill is going to be torn down, I sure hope that the tree survives.
phil b
benton, ky

jefflipsman
A hunting stand at sunrise near Casole d'Elsa, an hour west of Siena, Italy. Cinghiale (wild boar) are plentiful, but this stand is for the small red deer that inhabit the forests and fields. Lots of pheasant and rabbits too. Beautiful area.
