I had the idea of working a bit on landscapes, but I usually don`t find good ocassions to do so... last weekend I visited the city of Toledo, in the middle-south Spain. This city have the highest concentration of monuments, museums and historic interesting places I remember. Every weekend the city is literally taken by thousands of visitants from all over the world. This view is from a near hill, it doesn`t show the river area which is the most beautiful to my liking, but show the overall look of the city.

D700 @ 200ISO, 24-70AFS at 32mm, f8 - 1/250sec. I forgot to remove the UV filter I attached days ago, don`t know if it causes the look the master image have. I`ll try to post a link to a larger version later (sadly my image storage site is under "System Maintenance" right now).

Please post your favourite pic taken with Nikon gear, as usual... Thank you all

Rene11664880918
Well! WeDNeSDaY again. Uhmmm! I wish I was in a better mood but… I thought I would post this picture from the airport in Seoul but I missed the plane last evening. Now I have to look for a ticket and it will cost me at least what a good lens would :)

This a mural of a battle between the Czechs and the Swedish. Nothing to worry about right now. It seems it took place a few years before we were born! :)
I was attracted by the paint outside a door with combination of real objects and money all over the ground. To me, the low light also gave this shot a more realistic view.
After looking at the shots I took, I think on this one I got what I was looking for for.
I hope you guys like it!

Happy WeDNeSDaY everyone!

joseph_leotta
On Lake Champlain

This past weekend I went to Northern Vermont, up to the City of Burlington by the Canadian Border. Burlington is off of Lake Champlain which boarders on both Vermont and New York State. I have a house in southern Vermont that is a family retreat. It’s 200 miles or a 4 hour trip from where we live in NY. Burlington is another 140 miles more north, so it’s quite a ride (350 miles). But it was well worth it as I went to see 2 of my children that are away at college there at the University of Vermont (UVM).

It was rainy and overcast and not just a good day for photos. Towards the end of the day the clouds started to break up in dramatic fashion. This was just as the sun was starting to get low in the sky

Nikon D700 AF Zoom-Nikkor 24-85mm f/2.8-4D IF at 60mm
This one is only 78K

alex.held
Hello all
Last Saturday I went to Autoclasica, a huge exhibition of classical cars here in my hometown, San Isidro, in Greater Buenos Aires
I really know nothing about cars but I love the different shapes and designs. When I was leaving the show, the owner of a 1950 Pontiac Streamliner told me: " I want to show you something". He got inside the car, turned on the light and made the Indian Head Mascot glow in the dusk. And then I knew what I was going to post for the next Wednesday Nikon pic!
D300 + 18-200 VR 1/50 - f 5.6 - ISO 1000

luisarguelles

Like Jose Angel, I also seized the opportunity of the weekend to visit a beautiful city in Spain: Valladolid. There, I went to its Museum of Science. One of the floors is dedicated to neurosciences and since my wife is a doctor, she was explaining me things with lots of details. Interestingly, we noted a popular science activity where visitors can try to mount an human skull. I was amazed how she was able to mount the complete skull in less time I’m able to change lenses in my camera! (well, almost :)

eric_arnold
here's a shot i took last weekend at the Estria Invitational Graffiti Battle, a national competition of graffiti artists. Each year, contestants are given a theme and save several hours to complete their work. This was one of the pieces from last year and displayed this year. the theme was 'Life.' I particularly like the vibrant colors here, and the message is definitely a relevant one.

Matthew Brennan
Despite these daisy flowers being a weed species in local pastures, I still love what they do for portraying landmarks like these feed grain silos around this farm where I work on Fridays. Image is reduced to 125kB....

Great range of perspective photography posted already, Lil - lovely composition. Hamish- beautiful detail, Jose- great view of Toledo, your image places it nicely in it's surrounds, Dave- magnificent auroral image - top marks from me.......

Ian Rance
Wow! I don't think I can match the quality this week - the standard is just too high. sven keil
A nice Wednesday to everybody!
After a while of absence, I am glad to participate again. Originally I had in mind posting a different photograph, but looking at Jose Ángel's proposition reminded me that I still had a lot of unprocessed stuff from Toledo, where I was invited for giving a talk at the university in February this year. I had the "luck" of variable weather, with a mixture of rain, sun, and even snow. I have been several times to Toledo before, usually sweating, but never with cold feet. My picture has been taken from the "Iglesia of the Jesuitas" (Spanglish :-) while a snow storm was approaching. The clouds seemed as if there was a curtain behind the Alcazar (the salient building in the background), it was really impressive. As a consequence of the storm I had cold feet another time (because I came from Barcelona with more "springish" shoes).
Best, MS
