If You shoot RAW You can do some in Adobe`s Camera RAW.

One light.

Convert to sRGB and then try the soft proof. If it becomes dull again You have the wrong profile.
For me it works good when I convert to sRGB, (i don`t soft proof) just send them the file.

I own the 85 and 135 f2L - the later should do it.

I own a 28 f1.8 for a couple of years now. On film it is very good from f3,5 up to f16.
However on my 10D even at f1.8 I`m happy with it (a tad worse than the 50 f1.4 and 85 f1.8 but nothing to worry about.
I don`t know the Sigmas.

Saudek, Gursky, LaChapelle in my humble opinion.

One of the models looks like an enlarged Sony f828 =)
-
He also didn`t take in the depth of field problem of minuscule sensors - even on a 10D i`m troubled with this it is quite smaller than on full frame.
-
I made a 40x60cm print from my 10D and was pleasantly surprised - however this was a portrait so i don`t know how other subjects react to such a enlargment - try it and You see for yourself.
The interpolation could be done in PS no problem there but I shoot almost all of my pictures in RAW (your NEF) and i think You should do the same for such enlargments. No need for specialty software PS CS can handle all that.

Sounds to me like a sabotage from Leica =)

Yess, yess glass plates are back!
Got to get out of my closet that camera my grandpa used,..

Exactly!
So any ideas? And where can i get samples of the various eras?

I have a project to realize in a short term that must involve
different colour representation linked to the specific period it
portrays.
I will shoot a series of 4 images (almost identical composition with
minor variations).
The images must be differentiated but the colour.
I would like to tweak colour in PS in order to get a colour
representation that was typical for the period portrayed as follows:
the 1950s, the 1970s, the 1990s, and the last one will be today or
future.
Now can someone give me some guidelines to recreate the colour
representation of typical emulsions of that eras?
Is there some PS plugin to achieve this? What emulsions should i
pick and what they look like?

My car is now worth cca. $4.000 (a 4 year old Fiat), so I gueass a $8.000 camera must be that good (can it drive You some place?). =)

Normal lens for full body shots, short tele for the waist up (150 - 180mm) and a 200 - 250 for headshots.

Actually no one is saying that Kyocera will sell the Contax brand!

Sad news - and Leica is in big debts too, and the things keep getting worse.
Hasselblad and Mamiya are allready in the digital age so i feel confident for them - however if pros turn their backs to the medium format alltogether (which isn`t impossible) it may come out another way,...

I assume being a "Nikon legend behind the lens" doesn`t in any way compromise his sincerity about Nikon equipment right =)?
-
How about a decent EF20mm f2.0L?!?
C`mon Canon!
-
Fuji Provia 400f - it doesn`t get any better than this!
-
I don`t ever sharpen at the stage of RAW conversion but subsequently in PS. I don`t know if any other RAW converter has that option maybe CaptureOne?

If You`re doing rave parties take the flash with You!
Set the camera to f5.6 or f8 and 2 - 8 seconds time and fill-in with flash and experiment on those values, You can get interesting effects,...
