  1. My father was in the US Army 1960-62. He took many photos while abroad. This is one of my favorites. Thought it would be cool to share. Shot on Kodachrome with a Voigtlander ca. 1960-62. Mod note image removed. You may not post images made by other photographers.
  2. I realize that, but it’s a nice idea : )
  3. Shot from the High Line early in the morning, a few years back. I liked the idea of traffic stopping for this woman walking her dog, (She can stop traffic" you might say of an attractive woman) I don't think I consciously thought of it that way when I took the shot, but that's the idea I have now when I look at it. Nikon D5100, 35mm f1.8 1/320 sec ISO 100

  5. Great images. Coal will not survive the incoming administration I fear.
  6. I learned photography with digital first, and I think it’s the best way to go. As someone else said, it’s instant feedback, not instant gratification. It allows the student to receive constructive criticism at a reasonable time. Plus, it’s exciting, seeing a well made shot in real time. I think it gives you more incentive to stick with photography. Once you master the basics, and get to the intermediate level, then start shooting film.
  7. That I can do. I’ll definitely do that.
  8. This thread took off in a cool direction. Love the history of Chinatown and the tic tac toe chickens But, NY is always changing. Not much we could do about it
  9. ?? I’m serious. It should be printed and framed. It’s a great shot.
  10. Great shot! Should be printed and hung if you haven’t already done so!
  11. Thank you very much, I really appreciate it!

    Mott St., Chinatown NYC

Taken during the pandemic, August/September 2020
  13. Not that I'm aware, but its usually bustling!
  14. Really deserted during the pandemic. Rolleiflex 3.5E Kodak Portra 400, August/September 2020
  15. Trying to find a prism in good shape for a reasonable cost is like finding hen's teeth! Nice job
  16. Desolate Chinatown during the pandemic of 2020. Shot in August/September I believe, Rolleiflex 3.5E Kodak Portra 400
  17. Thank you, I think the 2.8 is sharp as well, just not shown in the first photo. Like the 3.5 better tbh, but the 2.8 has the coupled meter which does come in handy.
  18. Shot on Tri-X using a rolleiflex 2.8f and 3.5e for second two.
  19. Printique (Formerly Adorama Pix) in Brooklyn NY is my go to. They ship anywhere in the US, Canada and Puerto Rico. Been using them to print all my orders from my Etsy shop.
  20. Thank you! Much appreciated. Without knowing for sure, taking an educated guess, I’d say these are mostly converted living spaces now, with mixed office spaces. Just about everything in Manhattan has gentrified, TriBeCa being one of the earlier converts.
  21. Wonderful analysis Mike. I’m going to do a bit of experimenting myself. Thanks for your thoughts. JC
