  1. I may have shot the stairs straight on to see what that looked like, but otherwise, excellent shot.
  2. I really like this composition. Super sharp, in focus flowers with great colors. Well done.
  3. Hi Mike, a little background on this beauty https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Metropolitan_Life_Insurance_Company_Tower
  4. Shot this one during Covid, but I came back to it, as it started growing on me. The old Met Life tower, Madison Square Paek, NYC. One of my favorite buildings in the city.
  5. Shot this on one of my Rolleiflexes, at a local car show. I love the deco look of the car, and I thought this shot aligned with the deco motif. thoughts?
  6. A very interesting shot. The word ethereal certainly comes to mind. I like it!
  7. Looking at it again, does there need to be something to go to? I think the idea is that it’s sort of indefinite is what’s important. I wish the trees had kept going, obviously, but does it really distract from the image without an object to focus on at the end?
  8. I want to see the scene framed by the stairs, and the image makes me want to see that. I think this works. I'd like to see a color version, but I think it's a cool photo.
  9. I visited a large public garden in NJ, last weekend and was struck by these rows of beautiful beech trees. I thought it made for an interesting composition. Thoughts? Sony a7ii, processed in LR.

    Beech trees

Visited a public garden here in NJ today and I found these incredible row of beech trees. Reminds me of the final scene of "The Third Man" with Orson Welles.
  11. @Ricochetrider Straight out of the camera. Kodak Portra I believe
  12. Unfortunately when it comes out of Lightroom, it loses something. 🙁
  13. 4th attempt. I created a linear gradient from the bottom right corner to the top left, and adjusted the whites and blacks. (White more than black) without increasing the overall exposure. Think this is the best version of the three.
  14. That’s an interesting shot. It’s not something you see often, so I give you credit for trying something different. Nice job!
  15. Just got my first scans back. One photo looked like there was some staining on it, but overall I was happy
  16. I did lighten the exposure a bit, here's the result
  17. I tried to bring up the highlights under the vehicle, but without much success, since there is some streaking on the scan (this seems to be a Kodak issue possibly, as I've seen this on other scans from other developers) Anyway, does it work as is? Thanks in advance
  18. "Ron Jon surf bum" Ocean City, NJ August 2023, Rolleiflex 2.8f Kodak Portra.
  19. A very interesting composition. It’s as if the vehicle is emerging from an ink waterfall. I might have liked the front of the car to be a little more exposed, but it’s still a very cool photo.
  20. As there was a blood moon over the ocean, I decided to take a shot. Unfortunately, I was using a Sony mirrorless, which, I admit, I have not mastered (And I'm not sure I even want to at this point) Anyway, I had no tripod, just a high iso to avoid major shake. Since I could not figure out how to meter for the moon and adjust accordingly (a cinch on my Nikon DSLR) I was stuck with a blown out moon that now looks like an otherworldly sun. Can anyone tell me how to adjust the brightness of only the moon in Lightroom? I don't do Photoshop so that's not an option. Thanks!
