  1. Niagara Falls, ON, Canada
  2. Let my try again to stir up interest in this video documentary of the work of two photographers who recognized a dying culture in South Beach Miami, Florida.
  3. I see a sort of juxtaposition between the dead weeds with their prickly texture and the painted cones. Nice.
  4. I like the trees in the b&w version. Is the image cropped? Was there mor of the trees to be seen. Something about the light that is infrared-like.
  5. I cannot adequately describe this documentary, but all photographers should watch it. There are multiple stories, but an important one is the work of two photographers who recognized a cultural phenomenon that was soon to come to an end. On a side note, if you do not believe color photography can stand shoulder to shoulder with b&w, watch this documentary. It takes a few minutes to get drawn into the story about the photographers and their work, but your patience to watch it, in my humble opinion, will be worth it. Check out “The Last Resort” on Netflix The Last Resort | Netflix
  6. My 15 minutes to edit the original post expired so I have to reply to my own post which was too brief. What my question means, have you found a style, a photo theme, a subject matter? Although I took pictures, developed film and made prints back in the late sixties, there was a long pause. I did not get serious again until 2016. I have not yet found my photographer’s voice.
  7. Loved hearing old Ed Herlihy. Thanks for that link.
  8. Many photos on Photo.net are not great and most of the photos I post are not great. Instead they are following a post’s theme. Perhaps it’s one of humor and I have a snapshot that fits the bill for that post. BUT, when you view a b&w image on photo.net, it usually has more artistry behind it. When I convert an image to b&w I feel like I’ve just stepped through a mirror, not to the past, but to a realm where an image becomes more than just a click.
