  1. Human Nature. Fences and File Cabinets.......
  2. The “symbolism” was not the striking part of the photograph for me even though my personal conscience might indicate such. I saw the photograph first as a print from an old Black and White Classic movie. Then shortly I was impressed by the thought of the highlighted subject representing an undimmed Lifelong Love between a Husband and Wife. Like I say, sometimes the personal contexts we impose upon a particular photo elevate them beyond an already impressive instant, initial perception. I suppose this is why others sometime express appreciation for photos many might view as less than impressive. The stuff that makes Art personal......
  3. It is. For me, photographs like this are what make me chase the Black and White.
  4. Photographs like this are Good Cake that many appreciate for similar reasons. But a Special Icing is added by our own personal conscience and life experiences and memories which on rare occasion impart an ethereal quality. Not a regular experience for me but quite appreciated when it happens. Thanks again for posting this. You Made My Day.
  5. “To me it's reminiscent of the melodramatic lighting seen in an old B&W movie. To others; who knows?” That is EXACTLY what immediately came to mind the instant I saw the photo. Excellent. I really like it.
  6. University of Memphis Auto Body Workshop on Campus Training......
  7. First time I’ve seen one. Thanks for posting.
  8. It’s much the same with photography I think. After many years it becomes appealing to revert back to the simple stuff. Kinda like Frank The Shadow Sam’s simple but often great cell phone photos. It’s easy to get caught up in so many tiny technical details and tech that you lose the simple joy of Creative Shooting.... As an Aside but relevant point, that table under the rifle is a simple but very practical design that I built well over 30 years ago. Simple 1” square tubing I cut and welded with treated lumber screwed to it. Simple, comparatively light weight, and well used for many years. Simplicity is Good. It could use one new straight 2x4......
  9. Here’s a good example, a .444 Marlin Dad gave me for Christmas when I was 10. A real Thumper. Shooting in the back yard is an excellent way to maintain a skill set while keeping others safe practicing social distancing. No mask required for such peaceful activities.
  10. “Tell it to someone who cares.” LMAO. Where is your empathy and tolerance? Some here are Careless. I am Careful. I Care.... “257 Weatherby.?” Yep. .257 Wby. On a Remington CDL build. That thing has a Magical quality to it. Low recoil and it stacks consecutive rounds where I aim. There must be something to the fluted bbl. because it will put 7 in a ragged hole with no POI creep. I know what you mean about those lever actions though. They have a uniquely appealing function and practicality, especially one of good quality. I’ll dig up some pictures in a few days....
  11. Yep, same here. The Couple with the dogs being darker and more defined than the surrounding landscape draws my eye to them and the fading landscape they are moving into provides a nicely done context. Lot of Metaphor there....
  12. COVID Sunshine You need not confine yourself inside, you see. You can have a hot cup on a steady knee......
  13. Wow. Not terribly impressed...... Some folks need to get out more judging from the photos in that link.
  14. Doomed to the Past in the Future. Nothing new under the sun, It’s all been done.....
