  1. So it's like a simple periscope then, which makes my life easier.
  2. Are there any lenses in the Kodak Brownie No. 2 Viewfinder, or is it just two pieces of glass with a 45 degree mirror? I'm going to build a "super" brownie for 4x5 sheet film using the Carl Meyer 90mm lens I have, on a plywood box.. I'm not going to kill a brownie for this project, but I'm wondering if I need to get a couple lens elements for each viewfinder.
  3. I'm kind of surprised that they made them after September 1939, at least for export, as you would think they would go all in for the war effort, like the US did in early 1942.
  4. Can you remove the Omega Mount From a Koni Omega Lens, and engineer a linkage for the shutter release instead, or do I have to figure out a way to mount the stock mounting as well? I'm going to build a sliding box camera dedicated to my K-O 58mm lens, with a cable release connection in the box.
  5. I hadn't thought about rubber bands. Would two Wingnuts on carriage bolts, with either large washers, or a piece of wood connecting them, work as well? I know that the key graflok parts are two pieces of that slide and hold the holder in. I'm doing this, as I can have a front big enough for the Koni Omega shutter, and a release linkage, and for easier setup, as I can keep the lens on it.
  6. Is it possible to make a Graflok back, for a homemade 2x3 camera that also takes sheet holders, and has a ground glass? I know that it's just two sliders, one at the top and one a the bottom, but I also want to be able to use 2x3 sheet film Holders. I think I can pop a piece of Ground glass into a Film Pack adapter, but that won't help me with keeping the holders in place. I want to make a sliding Box camera for my Koni-Omega 58mm lens out of wood with a metal inner sleeve for focusing, attached to a sliding back, with the front fixed. I'm going to make it dedicated to that lens, so I can make some sort of cable release/shutter release for the stock body shutter release lever on the Koni-Omega Shutter, as it gets pushed down to release it. I plan on doing something similar for wide 4x5s, with the lenses on removable flat lensboards, but I have a Toyo Field 45A revolving back for that, and know how it installs, on the back of the camera.
  7. I've always wanted to spend some Sunday in the courthouse, passing various objects through the Xray machine, and see what they look like in an Xray.
  8. So does a Leica have a cable release?
  9. Thanks. I know that with my 1963 Iskra, I have to tighten the film a lot, to get the counter to work with modern film, as it has an automatic counter that pierces the backing paper.. I read that about the Iskra somewhere else.
  10. Great as I don't have to get the film under the pins. I think mine is a late knob wind, as it isn't a Singer, and says "23" Graflex on the back cover, as has a pre-'63 Postal Zone number on the inside of the cover. I have an adapt-a-roll 620 for 2x3, but I was wondering if there was an intermediate position on the counter that allowed for a 9th frame as it's a knob wind, or if the counter started later, as its "automatic". I have a couple PDF copies of the manual.
  11. Which side of the film flattening pins on a Graflex 23 120 Film Holder Does the Film go on? I read the manual, and it says that you can load it outside the holder. Does that mean it goes on top of the pins? Mine is one with a knob winder and the pins, and a Rochester 8 address on the inside of the cover. Also is there a way to get nine shots onto a roll?
  12. Would a Plastic bin work with an element installed in it, or would the heat be too much for the plastic?

  19. What kind of container should I use for a water bath for film development? It has to be big enough to contain the bottles for the six step E6 process. I was thinking a plastic bin, but I'm not sure.
  20. I got the back off. It's held on by metal "Wedges" secured by the screws in the corners. If I back off the wedges, it's freer, but fits loose against the body.
  21. Can you develop film in a daylight tank outside? I have chemical sensitivities that might make it impossible to do indoor film development. And what would I need for an outdoor "development center" on a cart? Would a small 120V water heater be a good thing to install on it, for a supply of hot water?
  22. I have a Minolta Auto Meter IV F, with the 10 degree viewfinder attachment. And for me, it works well and takes a standard 1.5v AA battery, which should be available on any drug store shelf, as well at other stores..
