  1. Dogs and cats! This is lovely. I also have a new image this week. Let's call it crayons.
  2. I had a very nice photo shoot this Friday. Cannot show you though. But this morning the morning light was delightful, it will have to do for this week. Christmas is coming.
  3. Thank you! I have an RCA-to-USB-cable that sends the signal to the computer. With the drivers included the computer recognizes the signal as if it were just any other input such as e.g. a video cam. The signal can therefore be recorded in any screen-capture software. I'm using OBS studio which is a freeware and it works good enough. We're talking video which is 35+ years old so there has been some deterioration. But glad to be able to saving it nevertheless. I guess I could have sprung for a video-card which would allow me to capture directly into Premiere Pro, but I believe this works good enough.
  4. Lots of very nice images this week. I'm a bit behind. I'm digitizing VCR and super-8 films. It's a lot of fun. Canon 5D Mark IV 135 2.0 L
  5. We have a similar tradition on Easter when the kids (only the kids) are to dress up as "easter-ladies and easter-gentlemen" The girls would have a broomstick and a teapot. The story is that the easter-ladies are actually witches travelling to "Blåkulla" on their broom to dance with the devil. It's a really horrifying tradition now when I think about it. :) Anyway, the kids hand out Easter-drawings and receive candy in return. The adult would have a big bonfire and fireworks at night to scare the witches away so they wouldn't stop at the farm and make the cow run dry. Hm, feels like I've written this before...
  6. Halloween is not a Swedish tradition. Not at all. But it's popularity is on the rise. We've had a couple of groups of kids at our house dressed for "Trick or treat". I've been steadfast in telling our kids that not everyone in Sweden recognizes this holiday which means that I do not allow them to go "Trick or treating". But I could not deny them the dress up. We also made a short horror film. All in good fun.
  7. I've always wanted a dog like the one you have @Marcus Ian , is it an Australian shepherd? I have a whippet which is also nice, not as much will-to-please but less maintenance required. I know that Adobe makes one big update every year, but this is the second time all of my scripts in Photohsop have gone MIA. At least it didn't remove the user printing presets in Lightroom this time. 5D Mark IV, 24-70mm
  8. I was at Åsensbruk in Dalsland last week. Canon 5D Mark IV
  9. The day that marks the time when I'm closer to 50 than to 40 came and went. That's ok. 5D Mark IV, Tokina 1000mm macro
  10. It was certainly 100% focus on the mirrorless R-model during this years Photokina. All ambassadors that were speaking at the event did talk about how they tested the Canon EOS R before the official release. The fact that Canon develops L-series lenses for the mirrorless models also points to that they take that market segment very serious. If not the most serious. I would think though, needed or not, that the dual card slot needs to be implemented before the market takes the pro-model to heart. Possibly there's also the battery issue. Does it make sense to invest in DSLR in 2019? I cannot really answer that. I cannot see the risk since there is still a good number of great lenses for DSLRs. The lenses are the key for me.
  11. My tripod is ok, but I think I need a different head. A ball head is probably not ideal for a long heavy lens.
  12. Almost tore my hair out trying to figure out how to resize from my mobile device. Anyway, first day of Photokina and Canon delivers. Big area, lots of talks and possibility to test just about every thing. Canon 70D (mobile edited)
  13. I got the sport version. It was a demo so the pricing was good. The island on the photo is called Klädesholmen and has a bridge connection. So after I had been to take in my mums horses I thought I'd swing by on my way home. Surprisingly enough it is not all that easy to get a clear view of the lighthouse from land. I'll get there someday when it's a bit calmer but to day I couldn't. I had to be contempt with some seagull rear.
  14. I work off my RAID's directly even though they are NAS. I couldn't tell you the specs since I'm married to the IT-guy. I also work quite a bit in premiere pro and having the video clips on the NAS works as well. I don't have any raw-copies on my harddrive.
  15. I'm not expecting any big new reveals. They just did the full sensor mirrorless Canon R. But at Photokina two years ago they showed a mega sensor that you could test out. Think it was >100 MP on a DSLR. It was no where near coming into production. But nice to see what the research department is up to. I'll be sure to post something from the show next Thursday.
  16. I'm a LR addict myself. But I hardly ever attach the camera to the computer. I have a card reader which I use and I import the images to LR directly. LR copies them to the raided disk cabinet and there's also a cloud back-up feature attached to that. I only wish I would be better at keywording. This was perhaps (;)) a bit OT. My apologies to the OP.
  17. It's cooking up to a gale this weekend. I could not test my new lens more than a little. The sea-spray is quite substantial so I don't want to be out too much in this weather and get the front element all salty. At least it's Friday and I'm almost caught up again. I'll be visiting Photokina next week. Anyone from the list going? 5D Mark IV 150-600 Sigma
  18. Its a Sigma 150-600mm f/5-6.3 DG OS HSM Sports Lens It was a flash decision since I got a good deal, or maybe just GAS. Hoping to have some time to try it out this weekend.
  19. Still not Thursday. I'm on a streak that is about 1.5 years now on which I have not missed a single week. Congratulations to @jdebever and his new toy. It is my favorite combo and I hope it will bring you lots of joy. I also got something new to put on my 5D Mark IV. I did not realize how heavy it was. Obviously shot with 70D, 50 1.8 :)
