    ready to shoot...

Sorry but it looks snapshotish, not a carefully crafted photograph. Was it a personal memory?

    Untitled

Very fine take José, except for the things on the water below the bird. I find these distracting and competing with the subject.

IMHO there's too much of the bridge compositionally-wise. I would crop shortly after the vertical bar.

    SMP_3080a copy

Very fine take, but I find the lower part of the background spoils the symmetry.

Maria, I find the branches on top distracting. Very fine view of the building otherwise.

    Gazania

    Plain and simple. Well done.

    Storm June 16-17 2014 2

Contrast and colour are OK, but I would crop to the main lightning. Can't help with white balance, sorry.

She is OK, but I find the sharp change of colour from the background disturbing.

    Ruthy

If this was a personal shot, I would say very fine memory. If it was a model, I would say I find her placement on the left a bit odd and would prefer a bit more space, maybe center placement.

    Edge of the World

    Wow. Impressive.

    Untitled

Interesting take, but IMHO it needs a bit more space around to breathe.

    Ablution II

Cool, but I would crop out half of the top of the image. It detracts from the main subject. In square format it looks great.

    Grndma's Living Room

Wonderful, once again. Very nostalgic and dreamy.

    Untitled

Excellent image (pose and composition), but excessive contrast. Softer lighting would have made it more pleasing. I'm no expert in artificial lighting, but probably what is missing is a fill-in soft box on the right.

    Light under the Bridge

My impression is this is the kind of photo that looks so much better in reality. Not to say the image is bad, but it lacks the "magic" element that probably was there.

    Untitled

Interesting effect, but I think it doesn't succeed. It detracts from the image more than adds.

    flower lake

Kitsch. Sorry, but it's the only word that comes to my mind. The culprit: the colours and subject.

    Arran on the horizon

Very good Brian, except I would have opted for a longer exposure to blur the water even more.

Wow. I don't know how you got these colours. The photo is astounding and very well composed.
  20. I agree with the previous comment. Background doesn't seem so bad, at least it isn't a disctraction. However she is poorly lit, her face is in darkness and the emphasis of light is a gleam on her dress which makes it a disctraction. All this said, the pose is fine and her look natural.

    Untitled

Me not like the dissonance of the colours. Reflection on the water very fine.

    Lily

    Very beautiful and well accomplished.

    On Grandma's Windowsill

The placement of the jar makes it look surreal. Exquisite.

    Half Dome

I see the exposure perfect. Indeed the whole photograph is perfect. Not even Ansel Adams would have done this well.
