AJ, the three rightmost flowers look very good, but it's a pity the one on the left is covered.

    Blacks and Whites

He seems lost! :) Not the most flattering image to exhibit for the chess player :) I looked into your portfolio for more images showing both players but found none. A pity. B/W works very well for me here, btw.

Maria, an orthogonal shot would be more appealing and seeing more of the "pasticceria"'s window would be interesting (at least for me).

Excellent. At first I thought the ship from the background shouldn't be there and was distracting or competing with the main ship, but upon seeing it large it becomes a good context for the saling ship and makes you wonder if the latter comes from there.

Are the white buildings the subject of the image? If so I would have shot them closer one by one and make each the whole subject (maybe the whole frame) of the image.

I don't know what you are trying to document. My first impression after looking at the image is "what are those trucks doing there?" It's not very clear since there is no load around, although from the path and the sea one suspects they are for taking loads from ships.

    Urban Landscape #3

Very effective shot, although more than an architecture image it looks like an abstract.

    Quo vadis?

His expression is OK for a candid, but is far from perfect and would not make a good proper portrait IMHO. I like the textures on his face and the blurred background. B/W works very well also. I don't like the loss of light towards the top of his head, though, and can't understand how this happened (it looks annoying to me).

    Dieter und Alena

I like his pose and her attire, but timing for her is far from perfect. Also, I see her face burnt on my monitor, wondering how it ended up like this.
  10. It's interesting. I couldn't make my mind at first about the shade on top of the flower, but I think I like it now and builds a feeling for the image. What I don't like is the ant coming out of the green part of the flower :) It's good to see you have a blurred background.
  11. I like this one more than your more recent submission. Austere, but poetic and effective in its simplicity.

    Back-country

Madeleine, I think you have captured a beautiful scene, but don't like how the tree covers part of the image.

    Street art 1-web

I think it's well framed and conveys well the street art, but can't help noticing the lower left corner runs out of wall and it's oblique.
  14. I understand it wasn't probably possible to wait for it, but I would have wanted stronger frontal lighting and no people around (just the building).
  15. Very well done. It seems the plane is on trouble. Very well framed composed and exposed.

    Untitled

Since you classify it as documentary I would say it's OK, but I can't help noticing the foreground fence covering the sheeps and grass and the background fence distracting from the landscape and flock. Once again, OK as a documentary shot if not much control was possible, but lacking as an artistic image.

    Meeting

Very well done. I like the ethereal look. How did you clear up the water? Photoshop?

    Relaxing

No problem at all, but I thought you may be interested in how it's seen and be warned that it wasn't working if it was meant as something else. Good that it was a snapshot :)

    Fireworks Spray

I like the timing and your subject although I'm not convinced about the top yellow firework because it looks blurry and undefined. What I don't like is the lower building which distracts from the fireworks and detracts from the image. Also exposition is a bit low, you would have done better probably with one stop more of aperture.

    Relaxing

If the photo was meant as a snapshot it's good, if it was meant as a model shot I think it fails precisely because it looks like a casual private snapshot.
  21. Your exposition and framing is good, and the subject can be interesting, but I think you would have done much better on a centered position shooting the building orthogonally.

    Breaking news

I like the subject, his pose and your choice of background, but feel the framing would be much better vertically just on on him (no window or just the lower-right corner).

    Untitled

I like you choice of exposition and subject, but the image looks blurry and I think it's cut off too high on the bottom, would prefer seeing more of the building with the wide part centered on the lower third division.

    Chipmunk team (Enlarge)

Good timing and vertical framing, but I think the planes would look better centered. Cropping would do wonders.

    Mind My Words

I find the pose and expression of the left man interesting and appealing, but the background is somewhat messy and crowded and spoils the foreground scene overlapping (makes it seem like the image was taking without much care of the background). I think many of your other images are much better.
