    Little Helpers

A good candid. I would have taken it from a highter angle, though, given they are botth looking up.

    Swan

Good that you have blurred the background. I would have preferred stronger lighting, though, to shape better the swan.

    _DSF0843

    Very humorous image.

Your daughter? :) It makes for a beautiful memory.

Excellent. Very approrpiate background and lighting. And very tasteful model.

    Christmas eve 2014 2 055_mod

Beautfiul view. I find the branches overlapping with horizon and sun rays disturbing, though. Considering it's the landscape that makes the image so impressive, I would remove the front bush altogether.

    Dos

How beautiful, like the rest of your portfolio.

    Yamagato cube and sky

Like the shapes and composition with clouds. Dislike the red and green colours on the buildings.

    Ancient stories

You got the woman in the right position. Can't make up my mind on whether it would be better with or without visitors.

    Newspaper-stand

Honestly, I think the subject lacks interest. You have better photos in your portfolio.

    Yasmin

    Very well executed portrait, Erwin.

    touching

Very humorous view. I didn't see the hand in the thumbnail, was quite surprised when viewing large as it is what makes the image.

    Frosted Landscape

Very beautiful Douglas. If I had to nitpick, the bottom branches from the foreground tree would look better if they didn't overlap with the background. Was taking from a lower position an option?

Very good John, you have mastered the portrait. And yes, even if the b/w works quite well I still prefer the colour version.
  15. Three things: 1) The sky makes a very strong appeal and the red-pinkish effect is interesting. 2) This very effect makes it look manipulated along with the very contrasted sky. It is good you say saturation wasn't boosted. 3) I think the town on the bottom competes (and clashes) as a subject from the sky, and would crop it out.

    Koi

Cool and disturbing at the same time. I like the opened mouth, which I understand is the main subject, and would have preferred a straight view of it, but this is only nitpicking.

    My Daughter

Very beautiful portrait, Melissa. Quite good you have light on her face, and I like the way she looks straight to us. Very honest feel.
  18. I see your friend's point and here it works well, but still miss light on the back of the pelicans. A matter of tastes, I suppose

It is strange how we find pleasure in the solitude and "degeneration" of things. Here it succeeds very well. I'm not quite sure about the car beyond the arch, but it doesn't disturb either. Very effective photo, Bjorn.

    Lake District_49

While the wood corridor floating on top of the water is very beautiful, and so are the ducks and the ships and the background landscape, I tend to think overlapping the foreground ship with the woods was unfortunate, compositionally-wise. Not only it is aesthetically disturbing, it also makes both subjects compete in a strange way. Beautiful photo otherwise.

The Face of the City 8

The solitary mood comes across very well. Congratulations.
