I am pretty upset as well about the stealth upgrade to Photonet. Have been a member since 2011 - now I see all of my galleries have been nuked & my images are just in a random pile. I do not have any issues with the need to upgrade the website - I understand that security holes & other things need to be fixed. [I myself have written code since the late 1970s so I totally get that.] Here is what I absolutely do not get: the arrogance of those who have chosen to inflict the changes on us. No warning. No email announcement. NADA. You could have given us some time to make screen shots of galleries etc. so we might have at least been able to salvage something from this website. And there is still no response to complaints either - so why even put it on the banner of the website. The silence has been deafening, to put it mildly. I am not sure I understand the sentiment of the thanks for 'following us to the new website'. I did not know I had a choice. Am seriously thinking of deleting my Pro account & finally creating my own photographic website. The lack of mindfulness by those who I call 'techbros' seems to be the new normal at the moment. I just deleted my Twitter account [which I have had since 2015], 1 week after Musk's disastrous takeover. It has been 3 weeks & it is slowly imploding. Then DuoLingo decided to 'upgrade' & nuke the learning profiles of all of its users - I lost what I had accumulated since 2016. I just deleted my account from there also. And now it looks like Photonet has caught the same disease... the contempt for the users of the website is really palpable.

Of the two photos [both of which are lovely], I prefer this one. Why? Because it shows the intense concentration as the bird chooses what seed might be the most delectable... :) -Aina -
Wayne, I really like the contrasting directional lines created by the boats and the roofs - makes for a really excellent composition. The filter treatment for this image is ideal I think - because there are lots of interesting colors in the buildings & surroundings. Congrats on hitting this one out of the park! -Aina -
Apparently, the 12 year old music prodigy Mozart played to an audience for here on a visit to Italy with his father. An absolutely stunning theatre. A place to really enjoy with a camera. This pic shot from the stage - this is what he would have seen - b -

Trip to Switzerland ~10 years ago. Took the cog rail up to Jungfraujoch. This is what it looked like at the top. Ten minutes later we were in a complete white out. Time to turn around to take the train back again - weather set in - nothing to be seen...-

Temi, I love teasles - they make great subjects for photos. This is really delightful - the spider web is a great focal point here. Interesting comment by Vincent - I usually like more contrast in B&W too, but here I think that having less contrast adds a gentleness & serenity to the scene. In my opinion, more contrast would also take our natural focus off that gorgeous web, which right now is the high contrast feature that we gravitate to in this image. Beautiful!!! -Aina -

Vincent, this one immediately caught my eye! Two reasons: 1. I really like the composition & also the detail. Very compelling. 2. At first glance at the image & I thought you had applied the digital 'Glad Wrap' filter on it. Then when I looked more closely I realized that this was not the case - the effects of that filter are much less subtle than the nice effect you have achieved here! Well done. -Aina -
