1. Thank you Shun for starting the thread this week. My kit is still buried and protected from cement dust; so, I offer a shot from earlier this year. This is the most unusual and densest 'plant thing' we have seen around here (Piriápolis Uruguay). No idea what it is but it is large tree size. It would be difficult to climb.
2. June 2011. Harry checks out his new home @11 weeks old. New Liskeard Canada. D90 Sigma 85mm f1.4
3. This is the additional weekly image thread for the Nature Forum. My kit is buried and protected deep from the dust of the construction in our house (window replacement) so I offer something from 2016. When I look at it, I hear the Sesame Street song ' One of these things is not like the other'. The egg is from a rufous-collared sparrow and I assume the small chick is too. The other monster is? Maybe from the other futbol club. Punta Colorada, Uruguay, 2016.
4. Waiting for their share of the catch of the day. Puerto de Punta del Este, Uruguay
5. The Tall Ships were in Punta del Este, Uruguay last week. Here are Brazil's (left) and Uruguay's (right) pride.
6. Perfect! I almost choked on my coffee when I saw your post! Thanx Tim!
7. I can't look a a lupine without hearing "Dennis Moore, Dennis Moore, Dum,Dum,Dum,de,Dum. Gives to the rich, steals from the poor, Dum,Dum,Dum" (Monty Python)
8. A bit late to the party this week. This sea lion was at the pier in Punta del Este when the tall ships were in the harbour. They are called 'los lobos' here, or 'the wolves'. I have yet to find out why. I would call them 'los cerdos del mar' after seeing how many fish guts this one was packing away.
9. The tall ships are here in Punta de Este, Uruguay on their way around Cape Horn and then on to celebrate a significant date with the Chilean Navy on the other side of South America. Maybe this one had pirates that left some goodies on the island? See the lads sitting on the mast? Man, I love it here! D7100 Sigma 150-500mm.
10. Just a 1cm diameter flower with bugs on a succulent here in Punta Colorada, Uruguay. D7100 with one of my favourite lenses Sigma 150 1:2.8 APO Macro DG
11. I'm glad that you were able to freeze the wings at only 1/1000th sec. I had to go to 1/2000th with ruby throated.
12. Beautiful. You must have had a lot of light?

The other morning, everywhere was covered with these little fall crocuses which seemed to appear overnight (it's fall here in Uruguay). Two days later, they were all gone. Some things happen very quickly in nature. Better not miss the opportunity to get a shot.
14. Maiden Lake, Northern Ontario last May
15. It is my guess that you have never been the beneficiary of Warner Brothers Loony Toons. and the incredible voice of Mel Blanc. Mary, It will bring you much joy to see how these incredible animals were portrayed in cartoons
16. Gotta be fast with these cacti flowers and fruits. Here one day, gone the next.
17. The tall grasses are in flower and my eyes are burning even with the winds blowing across the Atlantic from Antarctica.
18. A very noisy image of a Guinea Pig taken just after dawn this morning in Punta Colorada Uruguay. Its' 3 friends retreated to the safety of the cacti. This one opted for the 'If I stay very still....." approach.
19. Beautiful. The position of the head really leads to the impression that the bird is singing for the world to hear. I wonder what the song is?
20. One of a group of mushrooms that appeared in an open area here in Punta Colorada Uruguay. They were spaced a meter or so apart. The cap of this dew-covered one was about the same diameter as a 45rpm record. They have been quite durable and have lasted many days so far.
21. Amazing and beautiful. Thank you for sharing this with us.

A foraging flock of Monk Parakeets here in Punta Colorada Uruguay. It is amazing how bright green and blue feathers can be such effective camouflage.
